On chips, all these instructors say land it three feet into the green and let it release.. but I’m seeing more and more players using high lofted wedges and pitching it 5-10 yards short of the hole. How do you play it?

Whatever works for you. Pros play different shots in different situations all of the time because they CAN. Most amateurs dont have a reliable lob/pitch shot, especially off tight lies, so many instructors tell people of less ability to go for the higher % shot which is the bump and run when you can(obviously theres many situations around the green where bump and run is not an option)

If you honestly think the clubs are your issue you're delusional.

Play the ball forward in your stance and open your club head a little bit. Make sure you come into contact with some speed and let the weight of the club head clip the ball. It will fly 75% of the way there and bite.

I've played 3 rounds on this course and I hit it about 330, and let me tell you, it is long hitter friendly because most holes you can miss almost anywhere and not be penalized

Since he is not that consistently accurate of the tee with the driver and he hits his irons long, why use the driver?

because of strokes gained. having 120 in from the rough after a driver is much better than 200-220 in from the fairway. even if he can hit a 7 iron that far.
