This episode was awesome and the description is correct. "Cameron defending the ballet teacher for the time being..." because after this scene she gains the instructor's trust by saying she'll protect her and her brother. When she finally finds and gets what she needs from the instructor's brother the scene ends with Cameron casually walking away from the siblings while several armed gunmen charge up to the room they're hiding in soon after. The last thing you hear in that scene is the sound of guns going off while the siblings scream for help as Cameron coldly walks away from the situation with her mission now complete. Terminator as fuck.

I loved that so much. It showed how in her programming, her mission is to do the task no matter the cost and part of her programming still has her not care for human life. Once the task is done, everything else is either rhetorical or superfluous. Considering that she is a more advanced model Terminator (presumably T-900) one has to wonder what would they do after their mission is completed. From the product line, Terminators cannot self Terminate and their power cells last roughly 200 and a half years. Their flesh apparently grows old if we take the last 2 films as cannon. That atrocious last movie where the T-800 decided to live with a woman as her partner gave a nonsensical excuse to the Terminator fulfilling its mission, but they're supposed to not care for humanity since they will almost destroy it. I believe that they would work into making sure that Judgement Day happens, militarily, and even perhaps governmentally so that humans are even weaker to the attack, unless somehow the Terminator is destroyed somehow.
@NightRunner41710 ай бұрын
@@EternalRomanI know it's been a while since you posted but I thought I'd offer a viewpoint. Terminators as per Judgment Day are either in locked mode or learning mode, which is essentially only bound by mission directives but free to explore and learn from their experiences. If the mission is completed, a Terminator in such a mode might either choose dormancy if their learning experience has been limited, or might continue to roam the Earth freely, blending in as best as they can and continuing to learn from whatever experiences they have while doing so. Essentially, they're a free running AI at that point, unbound by anything other than their own perception of rules. In Judgment Day, the T-800 expressed to John that he now understood why humans cry. That's a HUGE leap forward from simply being a killing machine locked on a mission. That's actual artificial life coming to slowly understand emotions and a much larger picture of existence, which is exactly what one should expect from an advanced AI left to its own devices in a near indestructible body with a very long lifespan. On a darker note, I would expect a _locked_ Terminator to either immediately go dormant (as seen in TSC), waiting for a given time to wake and act in the service of Skynet, or immediately proceed to furthering Skynet's goals in any way possible. If you think about it, a Terminator in _our_ time could wreak immense damage that favors Skynet's eventual success without needing to limit itself to simply killing John. This is why they had to make sure all parts were destroyed, so that NO bit of Skynet tech can get in the wrong hands. Imagine the devastation one could manage if no one even knew it was here. Just running free, doing Terminator things, hastening Judgment Day without anyone even aware it was happening. Skynet should surely have thought of this and made sure that its Terminator units were _very_ busy causing all kinds of problems for humanity.
@EternalRoman10 ай бұрын
@@NightRunner417 I see what you mean but you missed a key component of the Learning Mode. The T-800 in T2 was able to learn Human emotions and understand it when he told John how to get his chip to be reprogrammed off the Reading Mode that Skynet has them. That was the ONLY way that a Terminator becomes Freewilled and learn, which obviously would then have them turn against Skynet if they learn like the one that learned with John and Sarah in T-2. Meanwhile, a Terminator whose chip is un tampered with, would finish their task, but I imagine that instead of going to sleep mode, unless programmed to, would execute other directives. Look at the T-X (as much as some people hated the movie) it gave a clear precise point on multiple tasks, even as far as debilitating resistance from the military within. It was a Terminator of Terminators, it was sent to kill Kate, and John's future Lts, but the moment it saw John, it shifted to the prime target. Yet, she continued to do other multiple tasks. I give T-3 a lot of crap, but I think it gave Terminators another scary and deep view of not doing nothing after stuff was done.

It makes sense from a rational point of view. Survival of humanity is at stake, you should concentrate on the war with the Skynet. It's unwise to get into random firefights because of the risk of exposure.

I think that series might have been more successful if it were just Cameron on a quest, maybe a six episode arc in which she tries to find John Connor, or some other search. It was so interesting to see how she interacted with people and to realize that almost everything she said did not necessarily mean what the people she interacted with thought it meant.

Don't forget what Andy Goode said: it has moods. He was talking about 'the turk' but THIS iteration of Skynet, is based on 'the turk', and so therefore is she. The dancer and the brother are not a part of her mission which at the time was to get the location of 'the turk'. 'The turk' remember makes mistakes.

Scenes like this always bugged me about the Terminator franchise. It doesn't matter how strong you make a Terminator, they're still subject to the laws of physics. Even a massive Schwartzenegger-sized person would knock themselves backwards too if they kicked with that much force. Cameron should have let the Russian guy back her up against a wall...then use the wall as a brace to send his ass flying.

@SuperProdigy3607 жыл бұрын
Hmm if anything the original comment is more correct. 1. She weighs the same as her human counterparts, so much less than that guy. 2. Her moving back or not also depends on the forces and moments she can impart on the ground with her feet in order to balance those created by the kick, not just on her weight. This is where it gets fuzzy. Although she isn't very heavy, she is very strong and it's possible even if not likely that she could take the right stance in order to do that. Using a wall would be the simplest way to keep herself stable obviously.
@FalconWindblader7 жыл бұрын
Dean Alexander Wright You also forgot that she's a MACHINE built for combat. her parts are more powerful than our limbs TWICE the size of hers. that being said, she definitely also has better balance than any trained human fighter would be.
@SuperProdigy3607 жыл бұрын
yeah but there's still a limit to the frictional force as well as the reaction moment she can create with the ground. It's all a function of her physical dimensions and weight etc. Her strength just makes it possible to withstand higher forces, not really raise the limit of what is geometrically and mathematically possible
@FalconWindblader7 жыл бұрын
Guess you never considered the possibility of having really powerful & sophisticated gyroscopes in her limbs huh...
