I’ve had to rebuild a few motors myself and when I’m stuck I always look at your channel bc I know you have had to deal with it most of the time! Thanks for making the best tutorials! I hope and pray your treatments go well, for as much as I watch your videos I had no idea you were going through any of this! You can do it buddy! #CamStrong

I just did my KX 250 F. The expansion ring , and rails are very delicate and hard to keep clocking oriented right. My shop manual suggests circlip ends not to be in piston cutout. You can use piston to square rings for end gap. I’m now gathering up all my parts to totally restore my 2001YZ 426. Glad to see you back working , fantastic results as usual!

Sir, Cameron, I have a 1986 CR250R, Which pertains too the Bottom end of your assembly videos. I really like what you've done to the CR. Alike you I've had a battle with Cancer, 6 Cycles of Chemo and 7 treatments of Radiation. Countless hours of treatment, I went through 2 months being nauseous and lost 80Lbs. I received the CR as a gift for completing therapy. Basically what I'm saying here is I wish you well with your Battle with Cancer. Never give up biking, and cranking. Drip, Drip, Drip, Drip,. Have a great season CN a friend CZ................................................

hope you are feeling better. just wanted to comment on the circlip orientation... gap should always be facing at 12:00 or at 6:00, not where the gap in the piston is. its very prone to back out if it is not straight up or down.

Great vids. One thing I noticed, you mentioned that when you install the circlips into the pistons, you prefer to line up the circlip gaps with the gap on the piston. Most manufacturers have a tolerance and diagram displaying a minimum distance that the circlip gap should be from the gap on the piston. For instance, my Yamaha indicates a distance of atleast 3mm for my 2017 YZ250F. Its good preference to keep the circlip gap as far away from the gap on the piston.

Awesome vid! Just a tip...when you want to measure the end gap, use the piston skirt to push the ring down the bore a little way. It helps get the ring level quickly and easily and you get more reliable measurements.

@Profabdesigns6 жыл бұрын
Hi Cameron, Glad to your up and moving about more. Still praying for you and the family too. I do have a suggestion for the studs in the cases or barrels. Per tax makes a copper based anti-seize compound. This is way better to prevent Galvanic corrosion for the steel studs and the aluminum cases. The silver your using help, but can also promote the corrosion your trying to prevent. The copper prevents this and lubricates the seating of the studs. hope this helps. Blessings brother.

I prefer forged Wiseco pistons, but otherwise, 20 mins for top-end assembly is pretty good.. If by some accident you do drop a nut or circlip into the crankcase, you can allways fish it out with a magnet.

@francescoporpiglia6505 жыл бұрын
Use the piston itself to fix the piston rings into the cylinder at the correct height for measuring the tolerance correctly. And the rings must be pushed a bit ( 1 cm from the cylinder top) when you make the measurement bc next to the upper side, the cylinder is not reached by the rings when the engine is working and it will have kinda brand new dimensions, so push rings into the working spots to have a correct measurement. For the rest really nice video! Very well done and nice assembly!
