WOOOW this episode was a roller coaster for me. Her mom is EXACTLY like my mom, even culturally (shout out to Caribbean moms lol). A lot of people may call her narcissistic; and it's true that so many of the traits are there, and in my case unfortunately there were a lot of challenges growing up. But I am my mom's whole life, and since the day I was born her entire life has been about me. That moment her mom realized what she had said was so hurtful and that she was crushing her daughter brought me to tears, remembering all the times my mom verbally stabbed me in the heart and then regretted it. She has the sharpest tongue I know, but she also has a really big heart, and she's worked really hard to reconcile the two.

As immigrant children, we are reminded every single day of the sacrifices our parents made in order for us to live happily in America. The guilt of not obeying them is so great that we're willing to give up our dreams for them. Even something as important as our wedding day. But eventually, this blind obedience needs to give way. Same, I’m a growing goth and the first black dress matched her the best but I loved all the black dresses. As a goth who doesn’t wear skirts or dresses, I would totally wear the black dresses. Idk about weddings but if I get married, I’m wearing something back. (I’m genderfluid so I’d wear anything, dress, tux? Anything as long as it’s black.)

It's really upsetting how goth/ alternative brides don't have the same number of options as people who want white wedding gowns. We're ALWAYS having to look in the bridesmaids sections or even prom dresses instead of bridal, or have them custom made. I adore black, red and purple gowns for goth brides. We look absolutely regal when we go goth in bridalwear. 💜❤️🖤
