Wait so she couldn’t go back and at least I don’t know, delete the page?!?! Like first of all, if you aren’t BLACK and you aren’t ASIAN then why are you saying you forgive her???? She didn’t talk about you. It’s the fact that she talked about us in ways that offend us. It hurts especially when someone who looks and seems sweet has said that. So to the others who she didn’t offend... I think you should sit this one out. And for people who are black or Asian and do forgive her, you’re wack. You’re wack af or you’re too young to understand the situation Because how are you going to easily and nonchalantly forgive and support someone who has talked about your race as if it was garbage??? Please tell me how you’re so naive and gullible and blindly support someone who used to think of your race like that? Shit we don’t even know if she the same now. I grew up seeing some people who thought racist jokes were funny for some reason, it’s usually because their parents were racist and made jokes at home. So they told their friends and they wanted to fit in so they laughed along, not even understanding the history and why it’s offensive. I feel like that’s camila. I understand not being ready to forgive her and being skeptical if she’s even changed or just giving a BS excuse cause she was called out. But I believe in educating people and giving them the benefit of the doubt.

Star She’s Cuban. Cuban people are a bit wary about racist stuff So when she did that... I was more surprised. She can’t be forgiven so easily even if her family is supposedly racist. One of my friends family are homophobic, she grew up thinking that the LGBTQ+ were bad people but she never said it or made any posts about it because she knew it was wrong to think like that. She had common sense not to share her family’s beliefs online or to anyone. Her family is open about it and it’s disgusting. Just because your family is racist doesn’t mean you have to be.

Please admit that its different. The hate started with white people. We are the main ones that don't get to use the word. When someone of another culture who hurt you says something, its different than when people of your same culture say things.

But which "N" word do you not like saying, you have to know each history. Im not black, I have never felt the need to use those words, I will never use those words, but if you think it doesn't make any sense that your own race uses a certain word and you do not know the actual history of it, then thats an issue. You need to know why each of those words are racist first, then you can go about judging weather or not everyone shouldnt use them or not. There is the spanish word "N****o" meaning black. This was used to insult ones skin. There is the german word "N***eo* meaning idiot. It is the "N" word that many white people in the u.s. started using because many began to Believe it also meant black. There is the "n" word "n***er* this too was an insult word. However it does not mean black. Its the same insult as "idiot" "dumb" or "stupid" what makes those words racist, was that they used it to describe an entire race. It has gotten to the point when you hear those words, you automatically think of black peiple. there is then the popular "n" word that black people use "n***a" the word derives from Negus, which has two meanings, the meaning they used for the word is king. This was a huge slap to racists face. The word was use in a loving manor that confused many white people, and even upset many. Imagine creating a word to down a whole race, and they be able to not only change how it sounds, but its meaning. So when i hear black people say "whats up my 'n word'", i find it funny when people get upset with them. They arent saying "whats up my idiot," "whats up my black" translate it to English they are saying "whats up my king" why the word is racist when my race says it, or when a non black person in general says it is the history on how we use each word. You had many non blacks use "n***a" to mock and insult your race so that is why it is understandable for your group to be defensive. Until we can all respect eachother, there isnt any need for my race to use the word, because it has such a negative history and has effected others badly.

The only race they like is white, and they even make fun of them sometimes. Like u said most ppl dont accept this bc we are a minority, but a lot of us are racist. Thats why I can kinda see where Camila is coming from. Look, I am not justifying racism AT ALL... Its disgusting and NOBODY should say it. But when you grow up influenced by this wrong standards you start to believe them. Trust me, I was the same. I grew up in a space where they would teach me to attach black to something less beautiful. So everynow and then I made some racist comments. It was never something super extreme, but it was racist and ignorant af. However, then I got into social media and the internet, and a whole new world was opened to me. It was the first time I got another influence besides my family. I learned that all races are equally beautiful and nowadays I am not racist. Time for a history lesson then for all the people defending Camilla and aren’t black men or women. In the 1800s slavery was very prominent and whites would call blacks and mixed people “nigger or nigga” when the civil war finally broke out and slavery was abolished, and the confederate union no longer existed, blacks were finally able to go to school, but there was still segregation and racism, so bad that people were murdered and lynched because of their own skin tone. Something that they couldn’t control, just like being LGBTQ, it’s not a choice to make. It’s natural. On September 9, 1957, President Eisenhower signed the Civil Rights Act of 1957 into law, the first major civil rights legislation since Reconstruction. It allowed federal prosecution of anyone who tried to prevent someone from voting. Even though all Americans had gained the right to vote, many southern states made it difficult for blacks. They often required them to take voter literacy tests that were confusing, misleading and nearly impossible to pass. Arguably one of the most famous events of the civil rights movement took place on August 28, 1963: the March on Washington. It was organized and attended by civil rights leaders such as A. Philip Randolph, Bayard Rustin and Martin Luther King Jr. More than 200,000 people, black and white, congregated in Washington, D. C. for the peaceful march with the main purpose of forcing civil rights legislation and establishing job equality for everyone. The highlight of the march was King’s speech in which he continually stated, “I have a dream…” King’s “I Have a Dream” speech quickly became a slogan for equality and freedom. President Lyndon B. Johnson signed the Civil Rights Act of 1964-legislation initiated by President John F. Kennedy before his assassination-into law on July 2 of that year. King and other civil rights activists witnessed the signing. The law guaranteed equal employment for all, limited the use of voter literacy tests and allowed federal authorities to ensure public facilities were integrated. When President Johnson signed the Voting Rights Act into law on August 6, 1965, he took the Civil Rights Act of 1964 several steps further. The new law banned all voter literacy tests and provided federal examiners in certain voting jurisdictions. The Fair Housing Act became law on April 11, 1968, just days after King’s assassination. It prevented housing discrimination based on race, sex, national origin and religion. It was also the last legislation enacted during the civil rights era. The civil rights movement was an empowering yet precarious time for blacks in America. The efforts of civil rights activists and countless protestors of all races brought about legislation to end segregation, black voter suppression and discriminatory employment and housing practices. And still to this day there is police brutality, racial targeting , and racist people. Those are the reasons Camilla can’t say the n word. Her people were never involved in slavery, granted she may have experienced racism but that is no excuse to send it to blacks. It’s one word. One word. She could take one word out of her vocabulary and her career would’ve been fine, besides her racists remarks besides the n word. The reason she can’t say the n word is because to blacks it means brotha or sista, but when anyone besides out race uses that language it makes us uncomfortable, and people need to respect that. It’s not that hard to say one word, and we both know that there were racist intentions behind that word. That’s why we don’t let others say it. Where was Camilla when her white and Cuban fans were calling normani nigger?! Where was Camilla when her fans showed normani being lynched?! Where was she all those times when her racially motivated fans would attacks blacks and other races? She may have "helped" our community, but that will never make her hurtful words go away. When you say something you mean it, and the black community and even blue ivy knew her intentions and what she said.

I understand the frustration in this comment section and of course putting black people down(or anyone in general) is bad and not accepted but taking it all out on camila literally doesn't make it any better, she did say some bad shit, true, she apologised twice (2013 and now), never said it again and right now and the past couple of years she is been doing donations and volunteers for black child in Africa fights for humans rights and much more. I don't know about you but what I know is that by doing that she is already doing more than what most of the people do on this planet to help solving some of the flaming global matters. Yet here WE are disagreeing in a comment section about weather someone that is actually doing something in their lives ,about living matters, is worth it to be forgiven or not.

I think its apparent that she’s grown and matured since then, if you look into her activism in recent years, who she’s shown support for publicly and where she has donated too.. Her past will forever be there and since she’s “famous” she’ll always be scrutinized for it, but so is her present where she can grow and change if (and that’s a strong if) people allow her to. Now that doesn’t mean anyone has to forgive her, she SHOULD be held accountable for what she said, but for how long is the real question..

Bringing up things that people have said in the past, to me, has always seem like an unproductive thing to do. Like, there is literally nothing that she, or anyone else, can do. Those were in the past; all she can realistically do about that is to apologize. Are they incredibly offensive? Absolutely. Should she have known better? Absolutely. Does it make them right? Not at all. What she did in the past was downright wrong, offensive, and disgusting. It's easy to *NOT* repost something racist; she had no reason to do that. *That being said,* realistically, there is nothing she can do. I don't necessarily believe that she is racist today, but I don't know her personally so I can't speak on that with 100% conviction.

Imagine people digging up your regrettable teen posts, trashing you for something you can't take back and threatening to jeopardise your career over it. All this even when you apologised for them. It takes guts to apologise to thousands of people across the world for something you did at 15 years old.

She did questionable things many years ago and she did apologise for them. And no, she didn't think she could get away with it. If she had thought that, she would have ignored it and not commented on anything. Everyone would have just forgotten about it. But she took the initiative to call herself out for her own actions and ask for forgiveness. Since when has issuing a public apology for something you did at 15 and have already apologised for, a bad thing? And if you're saying she's doing it for her career then why not? Shawn also used the N word, I don’t see anyone dragging him. The screenshot of camila calling normani the n word is fake. All these screenshots have been around for years and she already apologized once before, recently camila has been getting a lot of hate online and the screenshots were once again brought up. She reposted racist and offensive jokes, I see people saying she made it. Everyone saying “iM 15 I knOw better” in 2012 racism, cultural appropriation etc... wasn’t talked about the way it is addressed now in 2019 where teens are a lot more educated because on these issues becus it is now a norm to talk about things that might have been taboo then. Personally I found her repost on tumblr to be offensive, Ive first saw it in since 2015 and I knew it would be a huge problem eventually, and I understand why. I think what she did was wrong but I don’t see how cancelling camila cabello will help shape her to be a better person. Forgive her or not it’s up to POC individuals. There’s nothing more she can do now than an apology, she’s already advocated for blacklivesmatter and personally I think she’s realized her mistake and over the past years tried her best to make up for it.

We've been requesting an apology from Camila non stop since 2012. She only apologized for calling Obama her "nigga" in a brief, ambiguous apology. Now 7yrs later, after her team exposed the tumblr posts to be real by deleting the account, she FINALLY gives us a sorry excuse of an apology. People who read her apology without knowing the situation don't even know what she's apologizing for or who she's apologizing to because, yet again, apology is vague. I'm sure she did that purposefully so no one can look back at that post in the future and know what she's done. At the end of the day, she only cares about herself. Her apology seems insincere and identical to that of Shawn Mendez apology for his racist/colorist comments he also made in high school. Two peas in a pod, i'll say!

I'm not saying it was right for Camila to say those things about people, but I would like to point out some things. 1. She could've just said that those comments were fake or someone hacked into her account or something, but she didn't deny them. 2. There could be a reason why she apologized right after she was found out and that was because she maybe forgot about something she posted 7 years ago and she was reminded after someone had posted about it? 3. I'm still unclear about this fact, and correct me if I'm wrong, which I probably am, but these comments were posted on a fan account? And it was given to someone else? So there's just one thing. If this was once Camila's account, then she could've easily deleted these posts and never be found out. But these are just theories and things I just wanted to point out and again, none of these things were right for her to say, but I truly do think that she means this apology after a lot of thinking and analyzing the situation and you do you, guys because you don't have to believe me.
