Actually it's an old concept, TV studios have poor acoustics when they start to get multiple sounds and that are loud. The trend is that they get band to fake the playing over the pre-recorded audio so it's looks wow at home and doesn't sound shit to any in the studio watching. Turning down the volume knob after you're done playing is actually a very good tell sign that we're dealing with someone who IS a real guitarist. Props to Camila for not being a fake about it. I'm going to guess that she and her band were _actually_ playing the song, but then in editing it was overdubbed with a studio recording --- hence why her guitar seems to be completely inaudible.
