I keep saying that Raducanu needs time to get consistent wins. She was a novice a year ago. The one observation that I have made is that she seems to be as not as aggressive in her play. Meaning that when she won the USO last year, I remember her playing right up on the baseline, and coming into the forecourt more. Last week and today, I saw her way behind the baseline. Another point is that she doesn’t have a serious weapon at her disposal. She needs time to develop her game now. I’m beginning to have the feeling that the USO win was that of an unknown player who had caught lightning in a bottle, and ran with it.

This is Raducanu's first year on tour and as such she has no points/titles to defend so when players ahead of her in ranking can't defend their points, Emma's ranking rises. But in a month she will be out of the top 50 that's if she doesn't get past R2 in the US Open.
