As bulgarian, i am happy to see how far Victoria Tomova went in the last grass tournament before Wimbledon. From lucky loser to quarterfinals is really serious achievement. Maybe i expected little bit more from this match, especially in the beggining when Viki leaded with 2-0, but congrats to Camila for the win, it seems she is in really great form and would be one of the key players in Wimbledon and to Victoria i will wish good luck in Wimbledon!

@@bogdantenev2764 факт е, че Вики се представи слабо на този мач, особено след като допусна от 2-0 на 2-6 в първия сет, а във втория нямаше никакъв шанс. Но самото класиране до топ 8 в WTA 500 турнир си е чудесно постижение за българска тенисистка. А и в предишните 2 мача се представи много добре.

@@bogdantenev2764 имайки предвид стандартите на българския тенис, особено в женския (а дори Гришо и сестрите Малееви не са печелили титли от Големия шлем), това бе солидно представяне за България. Да, факт е, че някои от най-добрите не взеха участие в този турнир, но пък WTA 500 си е третият най-голям турнир след WTA 1000 и Големия шлем. А и Вики победи тенисистка в топ 50 и бивша полуфиналистка в Уимбълдън. :)

I still say if Giorgi worked more to add the finesse aspect to her game she could easily get into the top 10. Her tendency is towards strength and force, which works well but becomes predictable.

does anyone know why Giorgi doesn't follow the same ritual as all the other women, going out onto the court to acknowledge the applause of the crowd after a victory? You'd think she'd want to soak up the praise. She just waves her racquet once from the sideline, at least that's all she's done after her two most recent wins. She's also one of the least demonstrative players during the match. This is not meant as a criticism. I kind of admire her for doing it her way, being true to herself, if that's what it is. Wonder how she'll react if she wins the tournament, which I hope she does.

@Neal Camila is ultra-shy and often seems to be in a hurry to get done with matches, thereby avoiding being in social situations for too long. She actually seems more relaxed now, even though, as you rightly said, still quite introverted. The once-in-a-blue-moon smile that she gives is wonderful in itself.
