In this video, the Camillus Carnivore X Titanium Machete Review, we give a brief overview of the Camillus Carnivore X, then head to the woods to see how it stands up to the common tasks a machete is used for- chopping brush, removing small limbs, and even batoning some firewood.

I love how you say it's not something i would typically use, as if in survival surroundings you would have a ton of choices.. the idea is to actually find out if the tool is capable of doing different tasks. I think it performed well for your whacks. for the price this one is a winner all day long.

My girlfriend’s brother works at sportsman’s wear house and they have to destroy all returns and all the employees tried breaking two of them and they couldn’t do anything to break them so they use them to break everything instead now including other machetes. I just got one last week and it’s a crazy knife

I didn’t get a separate sheath for the tiny blade; it had an attached hard sheath. Decided to sharpen it as well as I could and turn it into a throwing dart.

Exactly what a saw back blade is supposed to be used for....notches. it's not a tree saw lol. I picked up one of these for $26...for that price it's actually pretty decent. Anything better would cost more than twice the price.

That's a Tactical Machete IMHO I plan on getting 3 or 4 and having a Kydex Shaeth made ,the sheath should do well with the 3 or 4 Tactical Machete Blades ,it looks like a darn cool tool.

Reviews on this machete are so distant. Either the reviewer likes it or he does't at all. So i bought one hehehe and it is great for my normal firemaking/branch use. Do not expect a log cabin though.

I just bought this machete... I find it works well for its design, wish isn't 1" of hardwood. The saw is a design failure as the teeth don't give any relief to the rest of the blade. Mind you, if the teeth grab and your hand keeps going, you're in big trouble.

The saw is a push forward saw err pull back saw so ya don’t slip into the blade

The machete use for me is typically some sort of blackberry vine. I'd prefer longer but the steel seems OK. I've a couple other cheap machetes and their steel is truly sorry. I agree the hollow grind maybe less than ideal though it may sharpen faster in its early service life. Hard dry wood is hard and no fun to hack with anything. I fully agree that the saw aspect of the tool is a poor choice. My assorted packs all have much better saws included. Consider a Corona Razor Tooth saw with pull back action. Anyway, I am considering removing the saw back off of this knife. And yes you need to sharpen both knives prior to use, what else is new.

Absolutely agree on the Corona razor tooth I carry one with me every time I go in the woods. I actually did a video on it and I love it! Thanks for the comment.

I am of the opinion that the saw on the back of the Carnivore is a meat saw as its teeth are a close match to the T handled Camillus meat saw.

This knife review is pretty weak, I own this knife also, with the molded case, and magnetic trim knife holder, it is a beast, honestly you are swinging like you're afraid of it. The saw works well, it's not a saw it's a knife with a improvised saw.

I suggest that YOU get out there and start whacking away at some brush while trying to worry about keeping everything in frame and viewable by the camera at the same time. Then, possibly, you might have a frame of reference

It’s actually a large knife. Totally different expectations of the blade. Machetes are thinner. And can flex. Knives aren’t very flexible. Plus, the saw is a gimick. Any common sense tells us that the saw teeth have to be wider than the rest of the blade in order to work. But it’s just a fun blade to play around with. Especially at the price. Take care man.
