Camino Day 9: Villatuerta to Los Arcos

A LONG unexpected day!! We arrived into the town we thought was the town we booked an alburgue, only to find out we were in a completely different town. We had landed in Luquin, decided to have a drink and snack. I filled up my water bottle in the community fountain and then continued on. We kept following the Camino signs, and it wasn’t until our map continued to add time to our destination that we realized we missed the turn off for our alburgue hours ago (it took a separate path) and we were too far away from it to turn back, so we made the decision to continue on the next 4 miles into Los Arcos. #camino2022 #caminodesantiago

Oh yah…Tick town, especially when a few days earlier I had talked to a guy from the Netherlands who camped just off trail and he told me the next morning that he had 4 ticks on him! 😳😳 #nocampingonthecamino 🤣

Have a great time in September! I booked the first two nights ahead (way ahead) in Orisson and Roncesvalles. Highly recommended to do so. The other nights we would book one day ahead and made that a part of our routine every day. Once we got closer to Sarria though, we had heard bookings were getting sparse, so we took a day and mapped out our course and booked everything up front for those 8 days (we took our time)! Stopping in smaller villages is the way to go if you have the time to take it slow. Enjoy!!
