That cat was definitely the town greeter in 2022! I have photos with it too. So so sweet and cuddly, and then went after our trekking poles, haha. What a nice memory. Thank you!

Yes it was! I really think that this cat was the start of my breaking down my anti-cat barrier. It had such a friendly disposition and really did welcome everyone to that cafe.

I took a picture of the same grey cat that Molly was enthralled with. My wife loves cats, so on my Facebook blog I would post a picture of a cat. The grey cat made the cut. I am continuing to enjoy watching your Camino Francés blog. Among the very best. Ultrea Stacey.

Thanks for your kind words. This was probably my favorite cat of the Camino. It was so friendly! Et suseia.

A big day girls, but you always sound so upbeat and enjoy your surroundings. x I agree, the scenery was lovely.. so much like home here, Australia. Again, sooooo enjoying glimpsing your experience.

Thanks Cathy. It was a long day, but the first two days of the Meseta were some of our favorites.

By the middle of the Meseta, the wheat almost looked like it was glowing.

The bar/albergue 2 km outside Hontanas must be newer, because it was not there in 2016.

I think it is only a couple of years old. We will try to stay there next time.

3:40 Back in 2004, ultreia e suseia was still fairly fashionable. At least Pablo Sanz said it when I left with the walking stick he gave me.
@staceyandmollypilgrims Жыл бұрын
I think it is out of fashion with the walkers now. Maybe we'll use those next time we walk it.
@hglundahl Жыл бұрын
@@staceyandmollypilgrims Well, Pablo would hardly be handing them out to people who already have skis to walk with. I didn't, and his stick served me very well up to the first day in Santiago.

At 2:21 - Stork Alert !!!
@staceyandmollypilgrims Жыл бұрын
There were a couple of days in the Meseta when the storks really saved us. Without those, there wouldn't have been much to get excited about.

3:11 Ultreia e suseia. Very idiosyncratic Mozarabic Latin - in Classic Latin, think "ultrerior et surserior" as comparatives of the adverbs "ultra et sursum" ... further on, more upturned.
@hglundahl Жыл бұрын
And "ultrerior" and "surserior" are not acceptable forms in Classic Latin. Spain changed Latin pronunciation in 11th or 12th C. I can't find the specific council that decided it, it was one though.

The evolution of languages is very interesting, isn't it. My brother-in-law could talk to you about that all day. It is his hobby.
