Thank you Jon! Still going strong despite of the 100 degrees plus heat. We are on day 26 tomorrow and the heat is brutal. The plan for tomorrow to O'CEBREIRO will be starting at 5 am. Still have 9 more days left till Santiago. Will be there for St. James Feast Day (7/25). Buen Camino!!!

What hotels did you stay along the way?

We stayed at La Villa Esponda. Strongly recommend if you get to St. Jean before lunchtime, you should start your hike and stay at Orisson. That way you are cutting your full day the next day and it’s more doable.

Your son is right, it’s possible to do it in one day. That was our original planned, but the heatwave threw us off. We took the taxi at Orisson because of the 102 degrees heat and we had reservation at Roncesvalles that night. If we were to do it again we would stop in Orisson. Also, we would send our bag ahead each day (only 5 euro per bag). We didn’t start sending our bag until Pamplona, wished we done it sooner. The bag transfer service was 100 % reliable and for 5 euro, your back will thanks you.

The people you encounter along the way are memorable. Each person experiences the Camino differently. We were blessed with our Camino.

We started in St. Jean June 17. Reaching Santiago around 7/22, with rest day in big city like Pamplona, Logrono, and Leon. We are staying for St. James Feast Day 7/25.
