Hi! We love your tips. We bring a few things you mentioned - specifically the wine opener (everyone's friend) lol. We also bring a knife to cut meat and cheese on the Camino for a picnic lunch. We also bring a headlamp vs. a flashlight. I hope nobody brings a coffee maker because cafe con leche is the best! Buen Camino - Michelle & Brian

If you drink wine (no vino, no Camino) then definitely bring the knife/wine opener. Headlamp will do it, for the albergue at night or early morning hiking, or just use your phone at the albergue when light out. You know your stuff my friend. Cafe con leche is the way to go on the Camino and always do grande LOL. Buen Camino.

@@CruisinwiththeColemansI’m happy and very excited for you on your up coming Camino. Some just do it once and be done, but us we keep coming back. I hope to be that 76 years old man, that I met on the Camino, working on his 13 Caminos. Safe travel and Buen Camino.

Thank you for the tip about the rain skirt!
@Gettinglostonthetrail8 ай бұрын
No heavy rain to test it out on the Camino, so I used it as a mat to lay down to take a nap on the Camino LOL. I did a post Camino gear video (will post it soon), I will list what was used and didn’t used on the Camino ingles. Thanks for watching Toura.

I liked my rain kilt (not calling it a skirt), until I accidentally threw it away at my albergue in Pamplona. That reminds me, I should order another one for my next Camino.

I liked my “kilt” as well. I haven’t gotten a chance to use it in the rain, but I’ve been using it as a mat to take naps on the Camino. Sorry you lost yours, glad they are inexpensive and replaceable. Thanks for watching.

Super advice! Love your rain skirt. Will get one if I walk the Camino again … on the bike I will stick to my rain pants.
@Gettinglostonthetrail9 ай бұрын
Definitely, makes more sense to wear rain pants when on a bicycle. I like the convenient, lightweight and how quickly you can put on and remove the rain skirt. Thanks for watching.

Just completed France' absolutely impossible to get lost except at Jean/ Port ! Horrible signs very unfriendly Frogs, nobody says and Buen Camino. Imagine that was not surprised .Buen Camino

“Buen Camino” doesn’t really happened until you get past Pamplona and it ends at Sarria. It’s part of the journey. When you do get a genuine/spontaneous “buen Camino” it’s much sweeter and meaningful. Hope you had a successful Camino. Big congrats on your completion Richard. Buen Camino to you my fellow peregrino.

we had the same thoughts on a blow up pillow -- sounded like a good idea, but didn't end up using it
@Gettinglostonthetrail9 ай бұрын
Blow up pillow is a luxury item, but inflate and deflate daily is too much work. Even though it’s lightweight, it’s still something you have to carry in your bag. I think as we go on more Camino (trips)our backpack naturally becomes lighter and lighter. Thanks for watching and commenting Vanessa.

These are great tips! Is it required to master your rain skirt dance to wear it on the Camino 😄 ? All kidding aside, this is a great reminder of the redundancy in equipment that can add unnecessary weight to the journey. Thank for sharing and keep on dancing!

LOL it’s crucial to master the rain skirt dance to wear it 😂. I hope this video will help future peregrino to keep their backpack light. Thanks for watching.

Skip the flashlight. Use your phone flashlight instead.
@Gettinglostonthetrail6 ай бұрын
You’re absolutely right. Why bring extra weight. Phone or headlamp will do the same. The trick to packing for the Camino is the less the better. You’ll enjoy “the way”more than hauling weight on your back.
