Thanks Simon! There's a 34 min overview video of the trip, and a series of shorter section videos, but they are still being released, lots more to come still!

Thanks Neville, we're looking forward to it. Got to get that balance of taking enough photos to remember the trip with, but not too many that I spend my time behind the camera, and not experiencing the moments as they happen 😊

enjoy your trip Simon, I just took a month off work and spent it in Valencia. Absolutley loved I didn't take as many photos as I wanted as the wine got in the way. Look forward to seeing your Spanish adventures on video.

Valencia, lovely! I’m not taking many photos on my adventure, other than tourist snaps, it’s such a great experience the camera gets in the way. Funny how wine get’s in the way too 😆🍷

A very exciting trip for sure. As a Z fc owner, which is very similar to the Z50, I think you've made a great choice. I love my Z fc....such a versatile camera. The 16-50 is a great lens, but as you say, not the fastest. Have a great trip!!!
@SimonBurnCreative

Yes, pretty much the same camera really! The kit lenses are great, but I really fancy going back in time to my manual prime lens days, and at f1.4, I can do a lot more than the kits lens will allow me handheld. Cheers Julian 🙂

@@SimonBurnCreative If you did fancy an AF lens, the Viltrox 23mm f/1.4 for Nikon Z50/Z fc is a belter (I've got one). Useful as it works with eye-AF. But I appreciate some people just like manually focusing. Choice is good!
@SimonBurnCreative
@SimonBurnCreative 2 жыл бұрын
@@jbairdexp I was looking at that lens, I did watch a Viltrox review video you made, and that put me on to looking at that brand (thanks!). The problem I saw was the bulk/size of it, similar to the Nikkor z lenses in that regard. I wanted something tiny. I'm quite happy with a manual lenses, focussing with focus peaking on the Z cameras is a breeze.

Wow, what a walk, look forward to seeing and hearing what your trip was like. With your regards the peak design clip - I bought one and after a few goes it went in a box and stayed there. A friend of mine walked the GR11 last year and went from West to East but looking at the route you showed at the beginning you might cover some of the spots he did - although there was a lot of mountain walking for him? Good luck on your trip both and hope you have a fabulous experience. atb Al

That GR11 trail looks amazing, might be next on the list 🙂 There are quite a few days of mountain walking on our route too, which I'm looking forward to. Thanks Al, hope to have a little video to do a show and tell at the end of all this.

Really interesting load-out, mate. I'm willing to bet that at no point will you regret not lugging along any more gear than that! Very well thought through. But the images, videos and, most importantly, memories you do come home with will be fantastic keepsakes. 😊👍

What a fantastic trip that will be. I've been thinking of cycling it one day, but there are life problems stopping me right now. Have a great time, and despite your assurance, I'm sure you will produce some entertaining videos at the end.

Cycling it is certainly less time-consuming and more doable for many people. Quite fancy doing it that way myself actually. Will do my best to make some videos at the end, cheers Neil! 😊

Oh, sounds fabulous, and great. I'm headed for two months in the fall. Thought about my Nikon 850 and 24-70. It is heavy.... I'm looking at that lens you mentioned. Do I buy a Z? Hmmm.....

I really wanted to take a bigger camera and my 24-70 too! I’m getting on well with my little prime, l got a z mount version, but to be honest l might have taken the 24-70 if l did it again!

Simon, I plan on leaving on April 1st (2023) and traveling the Napoleon Route out of Saint Jean. Did you take the Napoleon Route? When did you leave? Most people say you can’t take the Napoleon Route in early April due to snow and tough travel. Thanks and great photos!
@SimonBurnCreative
@SimonBurnCreative Жыл бұрын
Thanks for leaving a comment! We left SJPDP on April 8th. Napoleon was closed due to a heavy snowfall, so we went the Valcarlos route. We found this route to be wonderful, with lots of landscapes to appreciate, from country lanes through rolling fields, to woodland trails following a river. Buen Camino!
