I know it may be too late but when I did a cam swap on a Tahoe with afm or dod , I went into the oil pan and removed the internal by pass next to the oil filter, That work great 8000 miles and counting on a btr stage 2 cam and 3600 converter Tahoe did at best 12.34 in the 1/4

Quick question bro, I just did this job but the guy wanted to keep the dod, I put everything new from oil pump, o ring, oil pressure relief valve, oil pressure sensor, valley cover, lifters, the knocking is gone but the truck keeps loosing oil pressure over time when it starts to gets hot, I’ve never had this happen before on other trucks

Most likely The oil pump o-ring didn’t seal correctly or it got pinched while tightening the pick up tube bolt

My truck has afm and I’m having an issue where both the Stabilitrak/TC light kick on while on idle and it shifts hard from 1st to 2nd. And this happened after i disconnected my spark plug wires to replace my header gasket. I did forget to disconnect the battery but idk if that had anything to do with it

My shit sounds worse than that it’s like loud click. Sounds like it’s hitting the lobe on the cam like every so second you hear a loud click . I’m waiting on some 3 bolt for the cam and gm headbolts 2 weeks wait and I ordered it over a month ago.

Does the full throttle + turning the key work to prime the oil pumps on 07-13 Silverado 1500's? I've got a 6.0 that I just changed out a lifter on and it would be nice to give the engine a some oil pressure before it fires up! Thanks dude love your vids

Holding the pedal to the floor while cranking is the “clear flood” feature. It keeps the injectors from firing so the engine just cranks. If you hold the key, it’ll crank for 10 seconds then stop. You’ll have to release the key before cranking again. I’d advise you let the starter cool for a few minutes before cranking for another 10 seconds.

That oil gauge is dead 0 at start up. I'm glad my 07 tahoe doesnt have afm or dod but it's got the common lifter tick if oil isn't high enough. Itll get a cam in the future.

The oil is pressure is good at around 60 on idle? Mine used to be at 40 on idle, did an oil change and now it idles around 60. Is that fine

Dod is (displacement on demand) is when a v8 motor shuts down 4 cylinders for more fuel efficiency, motors that have dod have 8 regular lifters and 8 dod-lifters, those dod-lifters are popular for collapsing
