Nice video, very informative, did you try this wheel recently ? are any improvements on drives/firmware about the damping effect over the year that this review was made? I live in Brazil, here most import product have a dollar to BRL conversion from 1 to 10 (officially is 1 to 5, but after taxs is most close to 1 to 10), and I recently came upon a Store that are selling Cammus products for a fair price, the 5nm is around 3k BRL, the 8nm around 3.5k and finally this 15nm for 5.5k (the last two only the base), for comparison the Mozza R5 is 4k and Fanatec 5nm is 6k, only base and since these twos are using proprietary quick release they become a lot more expensive. I'm really interested to buy the Cammus 8nm, because they seem very consumer friendly, I cant use any standard 70mm bolt pattern steering wheel or quick release and thats huge for saving money, I hope they improving on all the points you made during this review.

@SimRacingCorner2 жыл бұрын
I worked out the resonating, it was the road effect FFB in AC that I was able to turn off, and it's fine after that. It wasn't fair to bring that up, as it's a game thing. I also found I could create the problem with my Leo Bodnar. So can't blame the Cammus on that. Though still curious that the Moza and CSL DD don't suffer from this.

@SimRacingCorner Жыл бұрын
I haven't retested the Cammus since the review (but I do plan to at some point). But a couple of things. I had my unit 1 year after launch so it had plenty of time for the drivers to be updated. Drivers can't change any limitations of a motor, which I what I believe is the cause of the poor detail.
@piereligio_ds Жыл бұрын
@@SimRacingCorner there are people who think it might be software because on some games it has sharper detail (like iracing). Also, I've seen a lot less complaints about it in recent reviews (only the ones that came out together with yours pointed that out), but no one that said explicitly if it was changed with an update
@SimRacingCorner Жыл бұрын
@@piereligio_ds In this review, I describe the FFB from several games. FFB detail/quality output varies from game to game, regardless of the wheelbase. That's just a fact, some are better than others. It's why I test across several games in my reviews, and not a single title. Some reviewers don't. And be aware some reviewers don't have the experience of reviewing as many wheelbases that I have. When I get a chance, I will revisit the Cammus and I will run out a video. Maybe I'll be surprised, but my expectation is, that the result will be the same as before.
@piereligio_ds Жыл бұрын
@@SimRacingCorner the fact is that if in a sim you can feel the road texture and in some others you feel it less, you can always in theory apply post processing to boost the high frequency FFB signals. I know this is all subject to opinion and I respect the time you put in. I would say ACC is the best feeling FFB for the Cammus. It feels well waited with plenty of detail, so much so I am trying to replicate that FFB into other paltforms. RF2 feels very distant through the cammus, I do agree with your opinion of the wheel feeling different between games. But I have to say I get all the detail in ACC straight out of the box. Why are you using 100% inertia? you should only use an amount that reduces some of the oscillations, more than that will do exactly what you described, making rotation sluggish and making subtle details harder to feel. On top of that, i assume your omp wheel is not on the light side either, so the physical wheel has its inertia on the high side too.
@SimRacingCorner2 жыл бұрын
It's a fair question. I tested the inertia setting from 0 and upwards. It made no difference to the wheel at all. I have a number of different wheelbases, so I'm fully aware of what that setting should have done, and seemingly does absolutely nothing here. Do you have a Cammus? I'm guessing not.
