Just in case you're curious, the Imperial German air force during the great war from 1916 and onward was called the "Deutsche Luftstreitkräfte." So no Luftwaffe in Gloom Trench I would think so Luftwaffe Blue can go on British trousers :)

Funny coincidence, I painted this exact same model in a very similar color scheme a couple months ago! The biggest difference was I gave him a white helmet because in the U.S. our civil defense helmets were white. Absolutely love your work!

Great painting there. I might have to get some of these Vallejos with mail order. My local hobby shop only stocks Coat D'Arms and also Humbrol enamels, and I have a stack of both, but some of these colours are a pain to mix, especially for stuff like silver grey, etc.

What a nice color scheme, and these models are very evocative. And now I think I need to pick up some Silver Gray. LOL

Logically soldiers will find everything useful for camouflage, expecially in dire condition, I saw photos of US soldiers in the Ardennes that had to use white sheets as camo covers, lacking winter camos.

I really really like how the blue looks here but I cant for the life of me find "Luftwaffe blue" anywhere. I got 70.816 "Luftwaffe Uniform WWII" but thats super light greyish almost going into a light purple. Or maybe its just the camera?
@SonicSledgehammerStudio Жыл бұрын
70.816 'Luftwaffe Uniform WWII' is the full name on the bottle, yes. Remember that this has also had a dark wash over it, and that ordinarily paints will dry darker than the appear in the bottle to begin with.

@@SonicSledgehammerStudio mmh...then it's probably the camera (or my display). Did some testing as i was watching the vid and my Luftwaffe at least dries suuper light. Like a drop of blue into a pot of grey light. Maybe its just a bad bottle. Thanks for the reply anyways! Always looking forward to your vids

It might still be worth grabbing a few agitator balls and dropping a couple into your pot; Vallejo paints can be a real bear to mix in those dropper bottles since they're generally quite thick.

Great video! I know you've been using Beige Brown for the rifles on your trench fighters in the last few videos, but I'm wondering if there is a reasonable substitute from Citadel or Amy Painter. I also remember you used an Orange Brown on the rifle for your sheriff last year and also on your Russian Naval Infantry, then Flat Brown on the matchlock for your Pike & Shot Musketeer. Just wondering.
@SonicSledgehammerStudio Жыл бұрын
It's probably not a massively helpful answer, but honestly, 'any old brown will do.' I use Beige Brown most of the time because I like it. 😅 I'm pretty sure Flat Brown would make for a more accurate SMLE - from Citadel or Army Painter it'd be something like Leather Brown, Fur Brown, or maybe Mournfang Brown? It's just a case of picking whatever you like the look of.

@@SonicSledgehammerStudio I was kind of leaning toward Morning Fang, but those are actually the three that I figured you'd suggest, but I had to ask. Thanks again!

Hey Troy, thanks for another very helpful video. May I ask you question, that might sound very stupid: how exactly do you load the brush with color? More often than not I end up with a drop of color at the tip of the brush and that is not very useful. It seems that you turn/twist the brush somehow while dipping it into the color. Can you make (maybe a short) video about that? 😀 Thanks in any case, you're a big inspiration 😊
