Bro what sign did you have that your Smart Box was bad ?? I currently having issue with the wait light just flashing. Some have recommended me to swap it out I just want to be sure before I spend $1k

Both times the box died it was just dead, nothing happening at all as if there were no batteries in the truck

On mine, the glow plug heater wouldn't turn on when cold and the charging system wouldn't turn on. It would crank just fine and eventually would start but still no charging.

Smart boxes notoriously go bad or dry the glow plugs This makes the glow plug control manual Also allows you to lock the box so vehicle can’t be hot wired or stolen Works awesome Great investment
