CAMotics is a well developed gCode simulator that offers a wealth of highly useful features including cut-surface simulation, gCode editing and .STL export.
Simulations benefit from many options for display of tool-path, surface, stock and tooling. User projects can combine multiple processes and custom tool-tables, for sophisticated and informative simulations. A wide variety of dynamic feedback in respect of job progress is available.
A built-in ASCII editor allows fast access to any project gCode file. Tabbed management of multiple files is very helpful. Changes within the gCode are monitored with automatic reminders regarding saving edited files. One of CAMotics most useful features is extraction of a 3D .STL surface using only gCode and tooling data.
The example nc files that come with the software demonstrate simulation and construction of many different types of 3D surface,, they are well worth a look. Good documentation and support are available.

Author of CAMotics here. Nice video. Would you be willing to share some of your GCode files with the CAMotics community?

Hi There, Good to have kind words re: my content from the software author !! Glad you liked it. I wouldn't have a problem sharing some gcode with the Camotics community. What would you like ??

The warrior GCode is pretty cool. Can you share that? I'll add it as a CAMotics example in the next version.

Hi There, No Problem, in fact I am honored to be able to contribute something you feel is worthy of inclusion in a Camotics release. The file warrior.nc file is just over 6 MB in raw .nc form and zips down to about 970 KB.. I've joined the Camotics google group today, so I can upload it there if you want.. alternatively I can send it to you at an email of your choice. Hope this Helps.

Hi, great video. I have a problem and I was wondering if you could help me. I have the G-Code of some images, but when I want to see the simulation in CAMotics I just can't. I on open project and select my file.gcode, but there´s no simulation. Do you have any idea why? I would really appreciate some help. Thanks :)

Hi there, Sorry to hear of your problems.... I've never had any problem with Camotics simulations. Once I understood that resolution settings needed to match the tool step-over in the file, everything went fine. Problems might be caused by the software that generated the gcode file.. I used the software / method linked below... maybe you could run your images through the same process and see if it makes a difference ?? kzbin.info/www/bejne/aKGyl4apq5yqj7s You might also mention your problems to Joseph Coffland. He is the author of Camotics and will be able to assist you much better than I could. groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/camotics-users kzbin.info Hope this helps

I do not have that pen. How does it show up???

Hi there, I think by pen you must mean the tools shown on-screen. ?? Camotics uses a definable tool library... so the tools you see depend on the tools in the active library... If you select the 'New Project option, this unloads the default tool library (I think) so you may need to redefine the tools in the library before you see them on-screen. If you are loading an example project.. the tools should be defined in the project.. so you should see them. You will likely get more useful help by raising this at the Camotics google group. The link is in an earlier comment.. Hope this helps.

Hi There, I don't (for the present) generally share files beyond those posted at cnc4free.org. I will make an exception if/when software creators want to have access to a file I've made / used with their software, in my video content. I think this is only fair.... However, all is not lost... If you want to make this type of content.. or even this particular example, I used the Lithophane Toolpath Generation Program by Chestnut Pens, as shown in the video below..:- kzbin.info/www/bejne/aKGyl4apq5yqj7s with an image from the link below :- soso.nipic.com/?q=%E6%B5%AE%E9%9B%95%E7%81%B0%E5%BA%A6&page=1 Hope this helps
