It's not the look&feel or the usability of win11 ..it's the learning process of customizing a linux DE and in this case gnome...LS has lots of customizations and these teaches you a lot..it's mainly a focus for newby people

I hope Zorin's devs have seen this video and have already noted new ideas for the next version.

they already added this since their preview of zorin 16, but not fully like windows but just the app menu. it should not be 100% windows

The best Linux distro made to give you close to Windows experience is Linux Mint. I'm using it since Ubuntu switched from Gnome 2 to Unity (2012?) and since the beginning it was easiest to use distro for stubborn ex-Windows users. This is the main idea behind Mint. I always customize it though, but it's default settings are just fine for most people, no matter if it's Mate, Cinnamon or Xfce edition.

Wow incredible video! But please from next time make the font of terminal a little bigger so its easier to see.

if xfce was elegant and minimal, it wouod be like any other desktop, so the benefit of it being light weight would vanish

Even hardened Windows fan boys dislike the new interface in windows 11 and when using Linux the whole point it to come away from that ecosystem, why does this even need to exist?

If this was Windows, every installed app would have to take restart before starting to work. I'm glad Linux isn't Windows
@wisnia27373 жыл бұрын
You're delusional, most apps don't require a restart, it's only the case with driver installers and that's not commonly used too since Windows 10 handles drivers through Windows Update pretty well.
@darukutsu3 жыл бұрын
@@wisnia2737 then tell me why accountancy program like Olymp need to restart after installing what drivers it need... It's accountancy program... and there is also electro-engineering like Multisim which also need restart...

Why would anyone want to use linux that looks like windows 11 why not just use windows 11 instead and a lot of distros are trying to replicate to windows 11 and Mac OS don't know why

Can't stand it myself but if it can bring Windows users into Linux then it's a good thing!
@paolofiscarelli29203 жыл бұрын
because we can. but I would reverse the question: are you really starting a war on the appearance of the OS? the important thing is that users approach linux and discover its potential. it doesn't matter what an interface looks like
@owainharris3 жыл бұрын
Are you trying to say you only use an OS because of the way it looks? Some people like the look of Windows and/or macOS, but like the openness / flexibility of Linux. Also, if someone you know had an older PC that was having issues or did not support Windows 11, you can put them on Linux with a familiar look to what they are used to (I don't like that because then they expect it to behave like Windows and get frustrated, but that's another rant)... I really like the look of macOS, and make KDE look a little but like it, with other tweaks of my own. But to really answer your question, this is just personal preference regarding aesthetics. "Why not just use Windows" is a dumb question given the context ....
