Spent a fair bit of time fishing solo, no sure I got big enough nuts to go solo underwater but agree 100% the things you see the way things work out, the way you feel, is tremendous for mind and body, you are never alone in nature, hahaha not sure what you are doing here if you don’t like the outdoors was a fantastic comment and sums up every kiwi I have ever known, outdoor people and why not once again you have shown us why NZ is one of the worlds most beautiful places in the world. Thanks for taking us along, well done mate tough conditions low vis but your hunger to provide great content shows through, and you needed a feed but what was the water temp, low and tough going I’m sure. Such an enjoyable production thanks again I am a proud supporter and encourage all watching to support this channel so we all get more, I’m too old and fat be be jumping in the winter water let alone a NZ coastline as good as it looks I imagine it’s bloody freezing and the rocks on the beach didn’t look too soft but now I don’t have too, Ollie does it for me, a channel well worth supporting. I do join me

Another great adventure, mate. that boat seems perfect for that kind of mission. Most of us would be too scared to anchor there. As a non diver I'm amazed that you didn't find crays galore in that kind of remote environment. Just a tip re the whole snapper - if you put some lemon slices and herbs inside the cleaned gut cavity, it tends to infuse the flesh even more. You could get fancy and pre make up a rub at home - with Asian flavours including ginger, garlic, chilli, lemon grass, mint etc. Stunning with snapper.
@olliecraig-primalpursuit2 жыл бұрын
Thanks mate. Yeah, I'll definitely make some more interesting recipes going forward! Well, Maybe I was a bit silly anchoring there, not too much to go wrong there in such calm conditions however. Cheers for the comment

Hi Ollie. Fantastic adventure mate. I have fished land-based to the south of the bay for eighteen years. It was great to recognize this place from another angle. Last four years has not fished well. As for mental health. Awesome mate. Can't wait for your next mission
@olliecraig-primalpursuit2 жыл бұрын
Cheers Gerry! Interesting about not fishing too well.. Suprising considering the abundance of Snapper in farms etc nearby. Definitely didn't have that 'Fishy' feeling and I covered a fair bit of coast. Strange
@gerrywilmering69092 жыл бұрын
Hi Ollie. Thanks for reply. I do have some theories about that. For years the predominant wind was SW. This has changes, so the coast doesn't get the regular wash it used too. Also there is alot of pressure from Auckland booties that never used to be there. Try the other side at the same latertude. It's still a beautiful place. Look forward to your next video. Cheers Gerry

@olliecraig-primalpursuit2 жыл бұрын
When you're sitting around a driftwood bonfire you'll be inhaling a toxic chemical known as dioxin. Burning the absorbed salt releases sodium and chlorine ions which form dioxins that are carcinogenic. People with bronchitis or asthma are particularly vulnerable from breathing these in.
