Just got done staying here in March. VERY CLEAN, beautiful and overall I did like it, but it was only 10% full and in March, there was little to nothing to do (for me, that was a plus). The sound carried, we heard a kid screaming for 10 minutes from down the road and across the street in a different section of the campground. Also, the Land Shark food delivery golf cart ran around the campground with 100 lights on, blaring music and killing the relaxing vibe of being in the woods. We also had 4 drunk guys on a golf cart doing laps through the campground singing. I can see this being a hopping, party campground come summer and that is not what I like when I go camping.

We went twice last year in April and July. April was very quiet and uneventful. July was more active and noisy at times but never bothered us. We stayed in that same spot both times on the video, site 70. In July our main reason for returning was to visit the water park and to see what it was like in summer. July was way more crowded, but still had a lot of sites vacant in our loop. The more active time of July did not bother us so much because we were there for the activities, like the water park and entertaining my niece and her family. Thank you for sharing your experience, because everyone will have a different experience no matter where you go. I love to hear what others thought of a place I have reviewed, wish more would comment their experiences like this. I truly apricate your comment! We are going back in April this year and will make a more detailed review and talk about the good the bad and the ugly. We just visited at at the end of July 2024. No pool for the campground. We were told we could use the pool at the hotel but the hotel told us that wasn’t true. The staff at the store are not familiar with the rules of the resort area. Where to park, please to eat, where are the best places to go to swim in the lake, we gave up asking them questions. All the restaurants on the island sell mostly junk food so you’ll need to drive to town for something other than hamburger or nachos. I can see it would be a great place to bring your kids. We are past that stage in our lives, so for us the place was disappointing and we will not be returning. It is clean, carts are cheaper than other parks, but you really need one if you want to get around easily. I’d say for seniors, not much interest for us. We did go to the wave pool resort area. Overcrowded for us but people were enjoying themselves. Feels more like a water park attraction than an RV resort.

All really good points. You aint lying. The campground and the hotel are not ran by the same people so I could see them not knowing. The people in the store / check in office does not know much outside of checking in we learned when we went in April 2024. Watch our newest video of this resort if you have not already. The restaurants they have are what you said. I really agree with all you said. We like it for the water park and for family fun but if I was a senior and wanted peace and quiet i would look elsewhere possibly.

When you give a water park rating 1-10 what existing water park would be a 10 in your opinion?

Good question. I would rate Typhoon Lagoon close to a 10 if not a 10. The amount of thrill slides would be one aspect. Do they have 1 good knock me off my socks slide would be another. Dollywood Splash Country would be near a 10 if not. Typhoon for the slushin gusher coster water slide. And the Dollywood similar versions to that “river rush”. Slides like that would make it. The other aspect would be landscape and theming.

@@GlampReview I have never been to the Dollywood water park. I’ll have to give it a try. I agree Typhoon Lagoon is near the top.

Nice place but not good for people with health issues as far as walking goes to the water etc.

True. A golf cart will help you get around but walking to the water edge you will have a hard time if your in bad health. I’m not sure I found a place where its not a climb down and back up.
