We used to keep our boat at the Marina there back in the late 70s. The place was actually booming for a while then. A couple of floods put an end to that. I would really love to see old pictures of the area then but can never find any. Miss being able to boat up and down the river, when the locks were functional.

In the summer of 79 I spent a lot of time at the pool at camp Nelson walked across that bridge many times I was 16 years old and I had a hurst olds 442 Lord where has the years went

Yes sir had the only one in Nicholasville at the time went to the pool they had down there I just turned 60 and I ask where did the time go

Actually that bridge was closed around 1985 I believe. I drove my old 1979 Lincoln across it right before they closed the bridge one Friday afternoon. They told everyone in the paper when it was going to close and everyone should drive across it one last time and I did.
