Historically speaking, skinny roads could easily be blocked by insurrection's by a single horse drawn cart. That is why wide roads were built. This goes back several centuries in Europe. At least that is what was taught in Architectual History classes back in the 1970's.

Satolli, Hamilton County is going to move this department to a newer Bond Hill complex.. In, turn the Alms and Doepke building will be sitting empty. Which raises the question. Will the building be repurposed, modernized and demolished? Given the push to modernize the downtown Cincinnati area. As evidenced by the Duke Energy Center is now starting a 18 month overhaul... Cheers, Mate.

As a kid in the early 50’s and living in a cottage on the north side of Kellogg Ave about 500’ from Coney front gate here’s what we had in our back yard. Back in the woods about 200’ from our cottage was an abandoned small gauge railcar sitting on its side. The rail car had windows along both sides. Growing up Dad told me it was for something that never got finished..

Here in Hillsdale County, Michigan, I enjoyed taking my motorbike down every unused road I could find. There were many due to swamps and the difficulty to maintain them. During the 70's and 80's the right of ways were returned to land owners.

Well, I found it interesting that in watching this video, I briefly saw a picture of my paternal grandmother, who - year after year - held the sign for the Turner-Ebbinghaus store annual picnic. During the section discussing the 'Doodlebug', she is pictured on the back of that train. I have a copy of that photo myself!

Yeah, I'm fine. I later found out they are called "Seed Ticks". Basically baby ticks looking for their first meal. I must have stepped right into a nest of them. They were smaller than the size of a pinhead. I needed a magnifier to actually see that they had legs.

Wish kids my age were more interested in engaging with their local community and sacred landmarks like Coney Island. When they talk about the ball room it genuinely sounds like a fictional story because NOBODY my age will dance or be merry. Happy I watched this vid

I traced it with your coordinates. East of the trestle it terminates after the woods and becomes a walk/bike trail, but Northwest of the bridge, the main line is still active and leads to a few sidings to a company called Flex-N-Gate and also goes to what appears to be a locomotive repair shop.
