Thank you so much for this video. It's incredible Campaq didn't release a road version without that limit. It had stopped me from buying the Ekar even though I've n3w compatible wheelsets

Would love a road version with a softer clutch spring and a 0-36 or 10-39 cassette.

Freaking Awesome!

Have you taken the clutch cover off the rear derailler? The technical manual claims it should come off using a 30mm spanner and only 2nm of torque. However, I cant get mine of with any reasonable amount of force.

So you did this a month ago? How does it work now? Have you run into any issues?

Thanks. Is it possible to move 13speed internals to 12 speed super record disc brake lever?
@michele_moscone10 ай бұрын
I think so, not quiet sure, never had an 12x disc shifter in my hand. But from the Form i would say yes. If i allow to ask, what is the profit of it? Other brake and shift lever? Or is it just for the optic?

This is a really bad idea. It's not new, this aspect of the shifter has been the same from day 1. In Ekar, test riding showed that on "US / UK" style gravel where it's often much rougher - bordering on MTB style riding, it was too easy to multishift by accident. Dumping multiple sprockets on the 13s cassette and chain is also really tough on the chain and on the RD. It's not like moving 5 or 6 teeth across three or four sprockets, as it is typically on a road cassette. The increase in tooth number change per sprocket makes a big difference. Try downshifting across 3 sprockets under high torque, and you will see what I mean. I've generally found it's easy enough just to do 2 or 3 rapid shifts if I want to move 2 or 3 sprockets - I actually do that quite a lot on EPS as well - it allows you to shift accurately the number of sprockets you want, either when you are tired, for instance, or under stress, or the bike is vibrating /moving a lot under you - pave etc ... Sure you can do this mod if you want - it voids warranty and if you break a RD or a chain, or a tooth on a cassette, it won't be Campagnolo's fault and we will not warranty ...

Thanks for your feedback, i did ride my Gevenalle 11-42 a lot with one click shifting from gear 1 to 11, nothing broke?! How could that happen? For me its a must have and also to the people i was talking about ekar, everybody said - one click shifting sucks. I just can say what i’ve heard and what i want, everybody have to decide for themself. But thanks for your advice, as it says in the video description... “This modification may also invalidate the product warranty."

1. In hilly course, quick multi down-up shift is critical. Ekar users around me also claimed that they can't understand manufacturer's decision. 2. Ltwoo's mechanical 12 speed gravel lever is quite similar to campy's road shifters as they support 4 consecutive multi shifting. There's no mis-shifting problem with Ltwoo. 3. Campagnolo could have solved this problem with another solution. I think this mechanism and design is tad intended for another purpose in mind.

@@peterghimme9661 I haven't found the absence of multishift a serious problem. As I said, if I want to go up three gears, its a quick tap-tap-tap and I'm up three gears, no stress and I know it will be three gears, not two, not four. You are mistaken with regard to the mechanism. There's no conspiracy here, no secret motive - they wanted a PowerShift type solution and they wanted an all-metal internal for the sake of durability. Hint - I know it's fashionable ... but not everything has to be a conspiracy of some kind. Sometimes, it's just a way to achieve something within a set of parameters Rather than take the route of a gated ratchet (Shimano, SRAM), they took the obvious route, using UltraShift as a model and fitting a movement limiter to it. It's a simpler solution in that it's based on technology that already exists in Campagnolo world, long used & well proven. L-Twoo and Microshift use different solutions to practically every part of the overall construction of their groups. You might want to take their shifters completely apart sometime to see how they acheived what they did, within the existing patent framework which also dictates what one can do and how ... You might as well ask why Shimano didn't do it that way, or SRAM. Fact is, each company will design something the way that they consider best, subject it to rigorous testing (including with riders with wide experience in the discipline) and then sell that product.

@@michele_moscone There is no "may" ... it is a modification of Campagnolo's design and as such, it does invalidate their warranty, full stop.

@@graemefk6519 i changed it for you, no worries! Hopefully u will not lose your warranty on your ekar.
