Holzmann's Hard Men, a grizzled Reiklander mercenary warband have located a cluster of ruins somewhere within Mordheim that contain a tantalising amount of precious wyrdstone shards. Problem is the fanatics of Sigmar's Judgment, a mob of witch hunters, have stumbled across the find as well. Bloodshed will ensue as neither warband will back down. The buildings MUST be occupied and all enemies must be slain or driven off! This battle report documents the warbands' struggle to get a hold of the highly sought shards of wyrdstone.

Audio notice: about halfway through the game you'll probably hear some white noise in the background varying in loudness throughout the video from that point. It's not mic static or corrupted audio, but rather the sound of a crazy downpour on the metal roof making a racket. Thank goodness we were using the lavalier mics because the sound was unbearable from the camera mic (editing those bits was painful). It may prove to be distracting, depending on your audio setup, and for that I apologise.

We used to use coins as lucky charms (placing them on the roster for the appropriate character, which eventually became the entire warband) but I got the bright idea of using actual Lucky Charms (the breakfast cereal) marshmallow pieces and eating them when used. Trick was not to snack on them but only the cereal bits.

I love the background music that plays when the models are being oved. Has a very "Atari 2600" feel...not sure if my brain is connecting the sound with memory successfully, but I think there was a similar sound in the game "Berzerk".

It's from the C64 game Last Ninja 2, the Sewer level, composer: Matt Gray. One of my favourite game soundtracks ever, just banger after banger.

I just realized that terrain piece is from the Dark World board game. I still have the box but I lost the temple somewhere along life.

Yes! I've had that since the early 90s. Still have the rattle of doom that slots into the throne lying around somewhere too.

“This is going to be a quick one” twelve minutes into a fifty-three minute video. 😄 I’m not the biggest fan of your music choices, but these are really some of the best Mordheim matches on KZbin. Focused in on the play and banter without taking too long on anything that’s boring. Good work!

Don't mind the missing stats but please dial back the volume of the audio distortion...or you guys need to speak louder so the overall volume can be dialed back by viewers

Unfortunately what you heard was the sound of an intense downpour on a metal roof. Without the lavalier mics about half of the video would sound much worse.

With all the missile combat, does your group not use the hide rule? Granted, there’s debate over being “seen,”but generally if a model is declared hidden, and marked, and don’t do anything to be seen, they can only be found if within the initiative range of someone in inches. There seems to be a lot of terrain features on your table that could be used to hide in, and that would help your more melee oriented warbands like the possessed. Love your vids. You do them so well.

You're right and I tell the others about the hide mechanic but they either forget, or just think it slows the game down. 🤷‍♀

@@cinematictabletop I guess it’s more of a Skaven or goblin mindset, but I play the Sigmar Sisters and sneak around a lot to prevent getting blasted by spells or arrows before it’s hammer-time. All the poor Sisters have for ranged is slingshots and you learn real quick to keep your head down. It’s not stealth, but it’s almost essential for melee leaning warbands. You have a great group of players and it’s a fun listen.

Love the campaign updates. Been looking for more stuff like this on KZbin. How do you guys keep the paint from chipping when your models fall or clank against each other? I can't seem to keep the paint on despite priming and adding a matte varnish. Cheers.

Oh they chip, in fact the mini that got shot then fell off the edge got a huge chip on his forehead. Just have to paint over the chips after each session unfortunately .

Great game guys, but plz get rid of that noise when moving the models. Or at least lower the volume. You talk so softly so when the noise comes on it makes my headphones buzz static.
