Deep dive into the rules playing thru the first half of the German turn. As I get the rules down things should speed up in future videos. Successful initial attacks and overruns but it is a long way to Leningrad.

Edited because I was stupidly applying the Fire in the East rules.

31:09 In the mobile attack against the stack with the fortress unit: the result is all units retreat, so the fortress unit that can't retreat is destroyed and the other did have to take a step loss but because it retreat into EZOC.

In your attack on the HQ you forgot the 1L shift for the woods.

24:52. You just needed to read the read text in the 8.10. Supply is checked at the beginning of the movement phase. Units in supply then are in supply until the next check. So there is no danger of Soviet units and depots going out of supply in the middle of the German player turn. You don't check supply at the moment of combat. A rule of thumb of thumb is that units are out of supply only if at the moment of combat they are already marked with an out of supply marker from the beginning of their movement phase. rule 8.10.1

But do have to worry about moving too far ahead that you start the next turn OOS. Finding w/Supply and doctrine (move/fight or fight/move) you have to think about where you want to be at the beginning of next turn during the current turn.

You mentioned the German 1R shift on the first turn once, but you repeatedly forgot to use it; you eventually picked up on it. You also used one of the air units twice. I don't mean to be critical, but since you're doing this to learn I guess you want mistakes pointed out.

No problem finding my errors - I expect to make a few. With the Combat shifts I realized I was missing a few so later I used the full list on the bottom half of the CRT as a checklist.
