We are in crap For mask look at the renovation center preformed dust proof (usually got a way better fit than the paper one's) also the place that sell the stuff for industrial comercial cleaning. The fitting of the mask is what protect you, so the dust protector pre formed was better for me when i handled my daughter's chemmotherapy. (She is in remission 5 year's better health than me)

I have two things to say to you. Firstly, I tend to look for information when I am worried and/or anxious about a subject. It calms me a lot just to know how things work and what I can do to minimize danger. You are, in my opinion, doing a great job in informing us on a point of view that isn't just about reading and passing on information: you are also putting the information in your professional point of view. This is immensely assuring to me that you know what you are talking about. Secondly, I just want to relay the information that the virus has been reported in Sweden as well. We are up to 11 confirmed cases as of writing, and everyone infected has either been travelling to locations of higher risk of getting infected or being in close proximity to people that has been travelling to those locations. As a final note, I want to tell my fellow human beings that knowledge is power, but rational thinking is key to understand that power. Thank you very much, Dr. John Campbell.

As a korean, I believe there is cover ups here for the numbers. They only test you if you are from certain area Daegu (infected area) or related to relegious group. So people end up lying to get tested when they have symtom. Seoul only have 50 cases which doesnt make sense at all. Daegu just has started to be in chaos like Wuhan and 500+ infected people are self qurantine now and waiting for medical supports. If all gloves are linked with the same agenda, you need to prepare in advance.

Fox News just interviewed a Pennsylvania man who went through the coronavirus quarantine process -- but he couldn't stop coughing during the interview, he then shared his water with his daughter live on air. I can only image how many people he’s come in contact with in general and not to mention the specific people handling the interview, crew members putting mics on him etc. It’s mind blowing. Things are being poorly handled here in the states, and that is an understatement.

But on the other hand he takes China's "data" on face value... It's not like they have lied to the whole world and their own population that the virus doesn't exist, then that it is not dangerous, then that it is contained... and now they have completely cut off all non-government communication about the virus and are physically persecuting anyone who dares mention it. And yet the good doctor shows serious appreciation of "good news" coming from China. It's... I don't have words for it. I can't explain it. It is obvious to high heaven that the Chinese are lying totally, that their news are utterly made up and that they are probably not telling us something quite important about this virus (you don't lock down the capital for weeks on end for no good reason). I can't fathom why the doc is not addressing this in any way or at least ignoring the chinese "data" outright. Well I guess we'll learn the actual truth now, the thing is in Europe and probably getting ready to explode in the US. We will find out what the chinese haven't been telling us. As for Iran... well they simply aren't testing anyone who doesn't have symptoms, or who doesn't come for testing on their own. It's bleeding obvious. I love the good doctor but it is almost as if he is not really aware of the actual practicalities on the ground. For example, what is the cost of one testkit? How many countries can afford or even have access to the number of testkits needed to get a meaningful picture about the actual number of infected? This is not your lab doc, it is not a controlled environment. I love his medical analysis, but epidemiologically I'm afraid it's pretty much rubbish.

I'm in Belgium, got sick two days ago and called the doctor. I was told to just come to the doctor's office as normal. Doctor took no precautions, no mask, no gloves, when examining me. His only question was if I had just returned from China. As that wasn't the case, no Covid-19 test was performed. I was diagnosed as having a cold after he looked in my ears, nose, mouth and listened to my heart and lungs. I was just sent home. When there I asked him if he was prepared for an outbreak. His answer was a simple "no", and I was told "millions of people die of the flu every year and there are only a few 10k cases of Coronavirus". After checking an official website, I found out that in Belgium there are only TWO hospitals 'allowed' (capable?) to treat possible Coronavirus patients. That's for a population of over 11 million people. It also stated that ONLY people who have recently been to China and have possible symptoms should be tested. This is a disgrace. I am now staying indoors for at least the coming two weeks. I guess I'll just have to weather this out and hope the doctor was right in his diagnosis.

Firstly this post should not be seen as a call to panic or anything like that, panic solves nothing. This post is, more or less, just for information. Sweden today: 11 infected 3 days ago: 1 infected 2 days ago: 2 infected 1 day ago: 7 infected All infected so far seem to have have been infected in Italy, Iran, Germany, and China. Or been infected by people who has been in those countries. Still excepting flights from all infected countries. No proactive testing of people that comes from infected countries. (we do trace testing once a person is tested positive) No quarantines, yet. Made some edits as more information was made available.

Me too !!! *Korean Flight attendant spent time and ate at restaurants in koreatown L.A., then returned to korea to be diagnosed Postive for Corona.* 😈😵😞 She worked the Israel to korea route just before. Korea actually had *ZERO* death from China Corona, but people started dropping dead, after bunch of korean Christian returned sick from Israel. This is around same time Iranian Scientists and Politicians got infected nearly over night. Interestingly, their immediate neighbor Saudi Arabia got No infection. Now the Israeli virus has gone to korea by accident, and is already in U.S. and the West. Last 3 days of New infection in korea 280, 400, and today 530. Vast majority infection is NOT in CHINATOWN in korea, but exactly opposite end of the country.

The South Koreans visited Israel on February 8 and left on February 15, when South Korea already had dozens infected and Israel had none. The massive outbreak in Korea was due to the religious nuts in Daegu. First confirmed case in Israel was on February 21 - of an Israeli from the Diamond Princess. Currently there are 4 cases in Israel - two from the Diamond Princess, one Israeli who fllew back from Italy, and now his wife as well. Iran could've contracted the Coronavirus from anywhere in the world but Israel, since it has no connections with Israel whatsoever (it does with China, though...) But hey, no pandemic is bad enough to be used as an excuse to spread anti-semitic conspiracies, right? You've been doing this to us for 2,000 years. Nothing new.

I'm so glad you mentioned the comparison with influenza, I've been trying to highlight the transmissibility of COVID-19 for weeks compared to flu. Add to that the incubation period, asymptomatic potential and aerosolised transmission!! It's an incredibly risky virus especially to older and vulnerable populations and the government should have been pouring support into nursing homes and social care support long before now.

I'm hoping that it means that there is a really simple explanation to this. I mean the dog was obviously breathing the virus contaminated air from being in the same location of it's infected owner. Thus the virus could have got caught in the dogs mucus membranes of it's mouth and nose. That does not necessarily mean that it is actually infected. To put it simple, it could be the same as the virus being able to survive for a period of time on different surfaces in the general environment that sick people has been in contact with. Like doorknobs for example. I am still worried though, since I have both a dog and a cat. Both of them old, so if pets can be infected that would mean both of them could get seriously ill if they were to catch the SARS-COV 2 virus...

I contacted my county health office (on facebook). I asked where I could pick up masks, and about food distribution in the event of a lockdown. I live in the Mpls metro area. The answer? *At this point, the need to distribute N95s is not present. Food distribution could possibly be offered to those that are actively being quarantined. Minnesota does not have any positive cases at this point, thus putting us at low risk. Here in Croatia they let the private plane from Lombardia Italy to lend and the only thing they did was to ask them are they feeling ok. It really is unbelievable. It's like they dont care if it spreads.

More Anomalies. *Korean Flight attendant spent time and ate at restaurants in koreatown L.A., then returned to korea to be diagnosed Postive for Corona.* 😈😵😞 She worked the Israel to korea route just before. Korea actually had *ZERO* death from China Corona, but people started dropping dead, after bunch of korean Christian returned sick from Israel. This is around same time Iranian Scientists and Politicians got infected nearly over night. Interestingly, their immediate neighbor Saudi Arabia got No infection. Now the Israeli virus has gone to korea by accident, and is already in U.S. and the West. Last 3 days of New infection in korea 280, 400, and today 530. Vast majority infection is NOT in CHINATOWN in korea, but exactly opposite end of the country.

Here's one reason it may be soreading so much. The virus particles have been measured at 100 nanometers across. The n95 masks healthcare workers and everyone else are using only stop 95% of particles 300 nanometers and larger. Meaning that there are gaps in the masks more than 3 times wider than the virus particles. The masks are useless. Edit: after further research, it looks like filters that use activated carbon may still be effective. Military CBRN filters have this, but most are out of date and they are hard to find. It turns out that many p100 filters do contain activated carbon and may be effective for a few hours after the package is opened. They are expensive, but if you absolutely need a trip to the grocery store they may work.
