Funny how we get nonsense, fear and contradictions from Governments and their medical advisors, but these humble and immensely professional gentlemen can have a discussion for public consumption without any fear mongering and make perfect sense dispensing a vast amount of interesting and useful information. Most of all, they're treating the public like grown-ups, not children. Thank you both, you're a breath of fresh air.

I’m a physician (radiologist) in the US. Every day I see CT scans of the chest for patients who come into Emergency with hypoxia. These are typically done to exclude the possibility of pulmonary embolism (PE). Most show no PE, but many show the extensive bilateral pneumonia pattern which is classic for CoViD-19. If I have a moment, I will check their medical record to see if there’s a Vitamin D level anywhere. For most patients there is no info, but maybe 1/4-1/3 do have a level from the past year or two. Invariably the patients with the worst disease have levels of 5-25, with most being 12 or less. I notice some have vitamin D listed on their medications, but usually only 1000 or 2000 iu per day. Not surprisingly, most of these patients are also obese. My story is only anecdotal. Working in a community hospital, I really don’t have any academic time to do a formal study, but I think there’s definitely a pattern which is important to acknowledge. Most of my colleagues want to pooh-pooh what I say, do I don’t feel like I can push too hard, unfortunately.

We were able to collect community wide data on Vitamin D and found a large percentage of Vitamin D deficiency with our rainy overcast country. I take K2 with the D with the D and also the other common spoke of vitamins. I have been around more COVID infected people, face to face since this pandemic started to have full confidence from my anecdotal experience that this virus is not automatic and my experience cannot simply be luck. @@matthewberry3055 Are you asking because vaccinated people can’t contract, be hospitalized or die from covid? Because we know that’s not true. Based on your statement, if one is vaccinated then there would be no need for medications or appropriate medical treatment if or when they fall ill, because all they need is the vaccine, period. Should they also be told to go home and only come back if they can’t breathe and their lips are turning blue? And if one isn’t vaccinated, then they definitely shouldn’t receive the “early treatment” that has been widely advertised since early in the pandemic, but which the wizards of health deny patients access to. Basic logic and critical thinking are among the greatest losses of 2021.

@@ambeliever5197 No that's not what I'm saying. I'm saying the vaccines provide an efficacy of over 90 percent against serious or critical infection or death. They reduce your chances of death from COVID by nearly 20 fold. It's not an 'either/ or' situation. You should be vaccinated AND receive appropriate medical treatment. No-one is arguing AGAINST medical treatment. Plenty of crazy people are arguing AGAINST vaccines though, which is batshit crazy as they're the best defence you have against the disease.

@Investigative Audit their discussion is no more reckless than the speculation of Dr Fauci or SAGE, most of which had been wrong or the behavior of the CDC and FDA which suggests regulatory capture by big pharma. What Drs John and Michael are doing is classic inductive reasoning: observation to generalization to theory. I give my patients a regime of drugs and nutritional supplements and observe that none have become severely sick for over a year and hence theorize that their immune systems have been boosted to fight a viral infection. The big question is why governments have not invested money to explore options outside high tech and potentially high profit solutions.

Finland has nation-wide vitamin D fortification along with supplementation recommendations. The current average vitamin D level of the finnish population is 75.9nmol/L, pretty much unseen in most other places in the world. Finland has not had anywhere close the excess mortality during covid outbreaks (spring 2020, autumn/winter 2020/2021), in fact, there is no significant excess mortality at any time in Finland. Besides Vitamin D, Finland has a nation wide Selenium fortification program (ubiquitous presence of selenium in finnish plant fertilizers).

About 10 years ago, as a teacher of biology and general science, I stumbled on a presentation about Vitamin D3 and how a great many animals in zoos were so deficient that none of their breeding programs were producing offspring. The causal factor was Vitamin D3 deficiency so UV lights were installed in all the displays were animals mostly reptiles had D3 deficiency which fixed the problem. The presentation went on to talk about the types of people who might be deficient and at what geographic locations may be a problem for UVB exposure and therefore D3 production. I had my levels checked the next time I went to my GP and they were below 20 so I started on to 2000 IU's per day from then on. I also advised all the parents of dark skinned children I taught to have their kids and themselves checked for D3 levels. Many had to put their kids and themselves on a supplement. When covid broke, I began taking 4000 IU's per day and have done so ever since. My wife also takes D3 although she waited until Covid was a threat.

Very interesting discussion and great to see doctors actually discussing and using these protocols. Would be interesting to see a discussion regarding Vit D, K2, Magnesium and Calcium connection along with Cholesterol. The presence of cholesterol in the skin causes Vit D from sunlight to be converted to usable Vit D in the body. Extrapolating out that fact, lowering cholesterol as we have been recommended to do for decades plus limiting sun exposure, it stands to reason, has helped cause Vit D deficiency overall.

Yes, it is, but more interesting is the fact it's not a vitamin, but hormone, as it belongs to group of stecosteroids (this info is even available on its wikipedia page, yet almost no one knows this - it was also mentioned in this video). Why is it advertisted as a vitamin then you may ask? Because this way people will eat it up, as they think it's a vitamin, when in fact it's not. Good for corporations that are selling supplements and big pharmas that will treat those affected by it. On wiki page you can find this information: "25-hydroxyvitamin D or 25(OH)D) are measured in serum to determine a person's vitamin D status." They are measuring the inactive molecule in people's blood, not the biologically active molecule "known as 1,25-dihydroxycholecalciferol". There are people who spend their whole day in direct sunlight and still have low levels of 25(OH)D, yet they feel great healthy wise, so how is that possible? Read up on it's negative side effects before taking this "godlike sunshine vitamin", even if you decide to take it Vitamin K2 and Magnesium - which many people, including fitness gurus and doctors with youtube channels, recommend should be taken together in order to prevent calcification of your arteries (Vit K2 helps with that) and to properly active and regulate the Hormone D (Magnesium). Hormone D can suppress your immune system and cause you issues in the long run. That's why a lot of people feel great at first when taking it, because it can "modulate the innate and adaptive immune responses", but in the long run you don't really want to mess up with your immune system and make it less effective in fight against bad bacteria, viruses and infection. Anyways, in the end it is up to you to make your own due diligence and research on this topic. Personally, I don't recommend it. What I recommend instead to everybody is to get it from sunshine and/or eat foods that are rich in it, which there are plenty, even for vegans as Vitamin D can be found in mushrooms.

Dr John, your videos and researches should be given a first priority platform across the world on all news platforms worldwide. You could call the show Let's Talk where you have these experts and people sharing their side effects like you have been doing to cover all areas of this pandemic, this transparency will create trust amongst nations around the world. Really hope you could start a TV show as well. So many people do not trust their own government leaders but this will really unite people on another level

I was already taking D/K but not Zinc so have added this to my daily routine as well. Dr John I I am so glad I found your videos as they are one of the best forms of advice around, I hope everybody is taking a leaf out of your book and trying to spread the word far and wide.

Aussie here, from sunny Queensland. My GP recently commented that almost everyone she tested (last year) was low on Vit. D, including my daughter who NEVER wears sunscreen. A friend who is a farmer was also dangerously low. If they aren’t getting enough via sunlight, NONE of us are. It really suggests to me that our nutritional intake is totally inadequate, even if we’re eating a seemingly healthy diet.

Sunlight contains UVA and UVB radiation, and the latter is essential for vitamin D synthesis. Two sunscreens with the same SPF were compared. Sunscreen with a high UVA protection factor enabled significantly higher vitamin D synthesis than a low UVA protection factor sunscreen, likely because it allows more UVB transmission. The findings indicate that the benefits of sunscreen use can be obtained without compromising vitamin D levels. from: "Optimal sunscreen use, during a sun‐holiday with a very high UV index, allows vitamin D synthesis without sunburn." by: British Journal of Dermatology, 2019 DOI: 10.1111/bjd.17888
