Camper A/C issues. Fixed airflow problem.

Our Coachmen Wyoming 5th wheel had a problem with the rear A/C unit. Excessive condensation, and bad flow. Here's how I fixed it.

The metal plate on the ceiling must be removed and rotated 180 degrees. The large opening should be the intake while the small opening should be the outflow. Someone has managed to reverse it. That is why the plastic cover doesn't match the intake. I have the same unit. I wouldn't have thought it could be done. The lower unit is in backwards but the cover is in right...

This! I bought a fire damaged TT and had to do some repairs to the ac unit and immediately saw this… Take the four screws all the way out, remove the metal panel and rotate 180 degrees, then you’ll see things fit right, except the baffle may have fallen and you’ll need to use more of your tape. When you put the screws back in, you should tighten the foam between the ac unit and the roof.down about 1/2”. The plastic panel was put on the right way, so you’ll want the airflow for the plastic panel where it was.

I thought for sure you would have taken the unit out of the ceiling. My thought was that the previous owner removed something from the cover that would have restricted the airflow out. Did you happen to look at the front unit as I'll bet it's the same kind of unit?

The front unit is self contained. It only cools the master bedroom if needed. With the rear one working now, we didn't even turn the front one on.

Can you compare the two units to see how the one that works best is set up?

They both work very well. My wife prefers we use the one in the rear so it’s quieter where we sleep.
