Earlier this week, my wife and I were traveling from Florida to Maine for granddaughter graduation from 8th grade - big deal now days! Noticed that we were near Sumter, SC, so I looked up these guys address and went to the shop. They were there and got my picture taken with Hal & Mr. Wilbert. @jay s it's Neverending, I'd say upgrade, but the newer ones are built cheaper. Eventually, you'll get to the point, replacing everything a piece at a time, it'll be as good, or better than new. And as an added bonus, you'll know how to replace the part when it breaks again.

Given the two options I would prefer a camper/RV. A mobile home is designed with the ability to be careful moved from one place to another. It's not designed to withstand constant unavoidable abuse that an RV will experience by constantly being driven/pulled around.

Wow. What a mess. I had seen several RV wrecks in my over the road driving years & they all end up looking just like this. The only thing identifiable was the ice box. I give you guys gredit as you have a big job involved in the clean up & with all that, you still show a heart of gold for the owners in helping them salvage what ever they can from what was left. These RV's are very costly & make quite the mess when they wreck. Great recovery & awesome to see the teamwork involved in clearing the mess. Stay safe guys.

campers are not much more than cardboard boxes on wheels, i know, i own one too. just think, in some states you are allowed to travel inside a travel trailer! one thing you guys should be aware of, some trailers now have high capacity battery systems that are hooked up to an inverter supplying the entire trailer with 120 volts ac power even while on the road. this could pose a risk to your workers during a salvege operation. be careful

@@m9ovich785 I was thinking the travel trailer swayed & hit the Tahoe-trailer combo. The truck was drivable/usable and there’s damage on the side of the Tahoe and front of the kitchen trailer. The TT didn’t seem to have a lot in it (no books, clothing scattered) and there was a heavy generator on the back of the TT which could’ve made it tail heavy & susceptible to swaying. It is possible that the couple had already salvaged clothes etc. but it still seemed rather empty.

Great job. I was wondering about u getting them all. Here we get all vehicles involved if its a fatality or not likely. Yes i try to be considerate of owners but they will not walk around my scene. Go downstream of the accident or go stand in the woods. Ill be gentle with your stuff but youll collect it at the yard. Do they always allow that long for wreckers to get on scene? We get like 20 minutes for light duty, 30 for a heavy.

You definitely need to make sure your well insured with no get out clauses, which they love to use, even worth taking gap insurance out as well, if they fall apart so easily.

I tow a 30' airstream so a little bit of experience towing but from the scene that you arrived to neither rig still had safety chains attached to respective tow vehicles. Did the camper and its tow vehicle roll over but it was able to be disconnected before arrival? Just curious about safety chain conditions and any details. A big mess and Sumter wrecker comes thru again. Gary

This shows you how poorly this RV's are manufactured. Even fully enclosed RV Motorhomes, they will fold like a deck of cards in a wreck. Best to get a School Bus or Motor Coach to refurbished for traveling or camping.

If that was my camper id by crying just watching you crush it up and put it into a waste bin.... but on the good side of it.. everyone survived and they were able to salvage a few items to help. I hope the people got some of the clothes and other belongings out... it just shows how pathetically these things are made.. no structure just a base and thin sides tacked ontop. I hope they were able to get the batteries and other larger items out before it was crushed and put into the bin also.....What was the beeping noise.. ??

It would seem to me that first on site gets to decide what they prefer to haul, and if possible to haul everything, just didn’t seem like a fair decision to me, Johnny come lately should have the tougher job, or not at all if company one is capable of doing the complete job. Bummer for the Camper Owner. Looks like The Tahoe rear ended the Camper. Says all the damage to the back of the Camper Bumper, Hitch carrier Etc.

This is why I don’t like Towables U can loose control of the unit very easy looks like The driver was going too Fast. From the way the damage looks.

This is a prime example of why the use of sway bars are to be used to tow a rv trailer if he would have had them this would not happen
