Got to say I'm loving your vlogs guys. They are so brilliantly done I don't think people realize the work that goes into them you do such a great job. I wish you nothing but the best for this channel. Also followed you on Instagram too lol.

Thats good of you to say. You are right they do take a lot of work but as its my one enduring hobby I get a lot of pleasure out of putting them together. Every film maker wants people to enjoy their films so youtube is a great way to do that. Thanks for your lovely comment 👍

Aha! Taking in some more of our dog walk places and we've had many of our home education groups at the Naze finding prehistoric wood and sharks teeth :-)

We're still making our way through all your videos in order, loving them! We live in Harwich & were so looking forward to seeing you here in this video, but you skipped our peninsula! Haha, we were so gutted. It's a really fabulous place, we hope you'll get to visit some time 😊

A "reason" to go to Framlingham is because that was where the TV series The Detectorists was filmed. Also worth a watch.

Simon Baxter We enjoyed watching the Detectorists, very funny. Didn’t realise it was filmed in Framlingham.

Another great vid Ken, you crammed a lot into that one and kept us glued. Good to hear Carol getting in on the narration.

Thanks Mike. Normally I cover a day at a time but there was not enough with just one so two got covered together. At one point I didn’t think I had a film but it came good in the end. Sound is still an issue that I am working on improving. Most of it is spontaneous and just filmed with a gopro so its a challenge. You both do a great job as a double act in your films so we are taking a leaf out of your book 👍
@MikeandTriciaOotnAboot4 жыл бұрын
Well there was certainly enough over the 2 days. I mentioned your comment about double act to Trish. Yes, Laurel & Hardy she said.

Lovely video , interesting at the castle and nice to see where you park for the night. 👍🇬🇧
@LifeistooshortCK4 жыл бұрын
Thanks Dave. We used to worry about where we would park but that has gone now. We never know where it will be but so far we have always found somewhere. As the van is so small its not that hard. Finding a really nice spot is harder mind and we have made some poor choices. Learned a bit more on this trip as you may see in future episodes. 👍

Argh you cannot beat the freedom. We found after 6 weeks travel in our motorhome it became very tiring. Oh no it's another beauty spot. So we decided to spend 3 days in each stop. Walking around 8 miles a day to explore the area. Also out of season some of the big caravan, motorhome sites charged £4 to £9 a night. Hook up, swimming pool and restaurants etc. Shower block. Parkdean Resorts September 2020. Lizard Point £7 per night. Isle of wight Lower Hyde £8. Also the larger sites have discount vouchers to local attractions such as Lost Gardens of Heligan etc. Cheers from George and Jane 👫👍

Very valid point about it becoming tiring being constantly on the move. On this trip we started parking up for the day and just relaxing. Good tips about taking advantage of discounted rates at out of season rates. I think we will try a bit of that later. Caravan Club pitches are silly money these days but I guess its partly due to high demand. We will check out your channel 👍

Places we have never been. Interesting regarding the Howard Family. I presume that's the same family that own Arundel? Dukes of Norfolk, quite important people around Tudor times. The villages seemed busier that we would have imagined and shops are clearly opening now. Duvet over the seat looks cosy!
@LifeistooshortCK4 жыл бұрын
Yes it the same family that own both. Things are certainly getting back to normal out there now and on a good day beauty spots are heaving. Having the duvet on the seat works better than the blanket so that will be left at home for the next trip. It also holds all the window blinds in place on the rear bench and stops them slipping out when we open the rear doors. I love finding better ways to do things and this was quite a good trip for that.

Hi carol and Ken my son and his wife live on a narrow boat . Have you ever thought about boat life?
@LifeistooshortCK2 жыл бұрын
We have had a couple of boating holidays on the Norfolk Broads and Caledonian Canal. Scared ourselves half to death on Loch Linnhe when a storm came in and we had to take shelter in a hotel 🫣😅

Spitting rain, as you know, up north Bolton we call it fine rain 🌧, i lived down South most my early life, i never really went around the Southern Coast. I was too keen to get to the North West. Sports, mountains, peaks, and coasts. Now living back in the North West, after living in the City Of Bath on top of Lansdown Road. Have you ever been the to Bath.
@LifeistooshortCK4 жыл бұрын
Yes we have been to Bath a few times but not in the Camper yet. I lived there for a while but as I was only 1 year old I have no memories. Beautiful city for sure 👍

Hi Carol and Ken. I’m enjoying your videos, particularly as I hope to visit Suffolk and. Norfolk in September/October. Are you using The Park4night app for your overnight stops? You have found some very quiet spots. Enjoy the rest of your holiday.
@LifeistooshortCK4 жыл бұрын
Hi Dorothy. We have used that app but on this trip it was mainly Google Earth and a few were just spotted as we were driving. 👍

Hi guys. Another great video. When you are wild camping what do you do about toilets...or do you have a compost or chemical toilet in the van ?.
@LifeistooshortCK4 жыл бұрын
The toilet is often the biggest concern for people considering such a small van. It comes with a chemical toilet but we don’t use that. We have a collapsible one called a Bivvy loo and we pee into bottles and tip that away either in the bushes well away from people or down the loo at public toilets. You will have to deal with pee every day but we have found its very rare indeed to have to use the bivvy loo as there is always a public toilet within reach. Thats a bit harder since covid appeared but this most recent trip proved its still not an issue. In an emergency we would park by a dog bin use the bivvy loo, bag it and dump it in the bin. In 61 nights camping the bivvy loo has been needed 4 times. Best tip I can give is never pass a public loo without making use of it when your out walking. 👍

You are really doing a great job at filming and getting out to places I have been curious about. I also have a question - how do you shower and wash your hair? I can't got a day without!!! I have a small camper with no facilities on board but have brought a portapotti on my current trip which can be handy.
@LifeistooshortCK4 жыл бұрын
We don’t shower but we have as many hot flannel washes as we want to each day. We sterilise the wash cloths with steam which keeps them fresh. In episode 5 of the France and Spain trip you can see how we wash our hair using a small electric pump. Its pretty easy to do. In the future we plan to try showering at the back of the van using the doors and our tarp to create an enclosed shower but we have yet to have the opportunity to try that.
