The van will always be a work in progress... every trip just a little more luxurious than the last! So happy you're discovering the benefits of "gription roll" (our family's name for it). It really has dozens of uses, and I'm sure your little plastic boxes on the top shelf will hold on all but the worst roads. Great solution! I think your pillow cases are fab, Lulu! They match your decor, fit your pillows, and will be soft to sleep on. With that military-grade blanket, you'll sleep like a baby! 🥰

I have read that vanilla in a spray bottle (possibly diluted) is a good mosquito repellent. Also, diluted peppermint oil repels snakes. Yes. Snakes! 😮

Another great fix! Perfect for your cook table! I have used weighted blankets and they feel amazing. I liked the heavier ones. But I found them to be a nuisance to move around.

Army blankets are great & warm. As kids we took my Dad’s navy wool blanket from WW2 out camping all the time. It lasted forever. About 30 years ago I was gifted a red & black plaid wool blanket when someone was moving. It is very warm and has a home in my Ram PMC minivan for when it turns cold. Safe travels to FL.

Lulu, I live in Venice, Florida in Sarasota County. Winter temps can be cold, especially in January and early February. You’ll enjoy the wool blanket if you’re not using your heater. We don’t turn on our heat because it warms up so quickly each morning. If you want to hunt shark teeth, I’d be happy to take you to my hunting ground.

BunnyPlaysHere uses a 400 watt heater and said it works well and she uses her small power station. With your mega system it would easily charge up the next day while driving. There is one that has 4-5 star reviews Basics 500-Watt Ceramic Small Space Personal Mini Heater - White Physically not very big and may fit in that space in your flip top desk inside when not in use. It has been cold in Florida so you may want to take the chill off at night. Worth a try.

On the pillow cases, I forgot what you mentioned, old ones you love are not queen? If you didn't think of it, sew the two styles together. The ones you love, add the end hem of the smaller dot ones. It will be a nice touch in the end, they will be queen size and you still have your favorite pattern!

Love your netting, easy to make and looks good too. So I know I will have to be making some for my bus. We love wool blankets for sleeping in cold weather. We use them when doing our mountain man camping reenactments. Sure wish we was heading south to, but not this year. Working on the bus and adding a room to our tiny house. So much to do. I’ve always put a full blanket/spread on top of any twin bed so my body side to side feels no air on either side as I turn over. Same with a full, I go to queen, and queen to king.

You can attach somewhere on the top of corners from inside your cabinet strand of rope or a chain with the hooks 🪝 on the end and two little hooks on the corners or the door of course from inside and when you pull down to use as a table you just attach rope to the hooks and it will hold your table. ❤❤

Hi Lulu, I’m so glad your coming back to Florida. I would so love to meet you but I can’t do the meet up in January. I live in the Deltona/Deland area, in fact just a couple miles off I-4. If you need a driveway to plug in and shower and laundry please let me know because our home is totally open. We also have a neighborhood pool too if you wanted to use it. I’ve camped in Florida during January since 1999 quite a few years. Some years it can be blazing hot and other years it has been rainy with wind and cold. I’m bringing warm clothes as well as warm weather clothes - layers… Bedding. I have a heavy comforter with rayon blend batting - it’s heavy and very warm. And I have a thin blanket/sheet I can use or not or on its own. I have a thermorest air mattress rated for cold weather and one for warm weather - I stack them according to weather. I can put one or the other blanket under me or the mattress as needed. I also fill a 64 oz growler with hot water if the temp is below 40 and put the growler in a Vera Bradley bag in my bed. If it’s cold out I wear a hoodie snugged around my face or a stocking cap or both. Florida can have very cold weather in January - bring warm stuff
