This woman is exactly what the system fears the most. Imagine more people taking their power back by using their creativity and living life on their own terms....this would be a different world... Now imagine younger people learning to live this away how much more freedom and money they would have. We spend so much with staff that are useless. Well done for finding this gem of human❤

Being 78 years old and also living in a bus I wouldn't change this lifestyle for anything. I make a little over $800 a month on social security and if I watch my budget I can make it and sometimes have a couple of dollars left over not much when I say a couple of dollars I mean a couple of dollars. I can totally understand how she feels about the change in her life living this lifestyle.

I HAVE A 2004 A LINER POP UP. I CARRY THE THETFORD CASSETTE TOILET THAT WAS IN MY BIG VIKING POP-UP THAT WOULD SLEEP SEVEN PEOPLE. THE MAIN REASON I KEEP THE THETFORD IS IF ANYBODY ASKS I CAN HONESTLY ANSWER "YES MY UNIT IS TOTALLY SELF-CONTAINED". THE THETFORD WITH A CUSHION ON TOP OF IT MAKES AN EXCELLENT FOOTSTOOL TO HELP ME KEEP MY LEGS AT A CERTAIN ELEVATION WHILE SITTING ON THE COUCH / BED. THIS HELPS TREMENDOUSLY ON A BAD DAY WITH LEG CRAMPS. THAT'S THE ONLY THING I HAVE FOUND THAT IT'S GOOD FOR. I INTEND TO DO A MINI COMPOSTING TOILET WITH THE LUGGABLE LOO AND THEY FIVE GALLON BUCKET. THE BUCKET CAN EMPTY WHEN IT NEEDS AND DISPOSE OF IT IN AN APPROPRIATE PLACE. I ALSO AM GOING TO MAKE A CUSHIONED TOP WITH A FLOOR LENGTH SKIRT ON IT AND IT WILL BE EXTRA SITTING WHEN I HAVE COMPANY. WHICH YOU CANNOT HAVE TOO MANY PEOPLE IN AN ALIGNER AT ONE TIME WITHOUT BUMPING KNEES WITH ONE ANOTHER WHILE SITTING UP AND DOWN OR BUMPING HEADS ON THE CEILING WHEN YOU STAND UP SUDDENLY IN THE WRONG SPOT. MY CURRENT TOW VEHICLE IS A 1998 HIGH TOP GMC SAFARI VAN. SO FAR IN THE REAR I HAVE TAKEN ALL OF THE SEATING. IT'S TAKING ME A TOO LOOOOONG FOR ME TO TO HIT THE ROAD. I'M THINKING WITH A LARGER VEHICLE I CAN JETTISON THE TOW BEHIND. OR AT LEAST DOWNSIZE TO A SMALL CARGO TRAILER THAT WOULD NOT HAVE TO BE SET UP AND TAKEN DOWN EVERY TIME I MOVED. PHYSICALLY I'M PRETTY MUCH TORE UP FROM THE FLOOR UP. HEY I STILL HAVE TWO ELBOW JOINTS AND ONE ANKLE I HAVEN'T MESSED UP SO FAR. IN MY OFTEN OVERACTIVE LIFE. I REALLY LIKE HER LITTLE BUS. I'VE RECENTLY SEEN ONE ADVERTISED THAT LOOKS GOOD IT'S A FOOTBALL GAME OR SPORTS GAME BUS FOR TRIPS I GUESS OR WHAT ANYWAYS GOT FIVE BIG COLOR TVS WHICH I DON'T NEED AND I CAN'T REMEMBER THIS OTHER STUFF THAT I DON'T NEED IN THERE BUT WHEN I LIKE ABOUT IT IS IT LOOKS LIKE ALL THE REALLY HARD STUFF HAS BEEN DONE. THE INTERIOR IS FINISHED OUT.

It is a temporary situation and I'm trying to save some money so when the time comes I can finally live my dream. Carol is a true go getter . She gives people in our situation the will to do it. I have been looking around my place and I have right now everything I need to be able to go into a van or short bus believe it or not I will be very comfortable in it . if I wanted to live full time just by using dressers that I have kitchen stuff I have the butane gas stoves from when I was catering that I can use so I have decided that once I sell the big bus I'm going to get me a comfortable van or short bus and I'm going to have a friend I've already talked to help me build out whatever little bed I need seeing that I'll probably have a recliner in there to sleep and sit in because of my back . I'm also thinking about getting a couple of those heavy duty magnets and heavy duty hammocks and if somebody comes to visit and wanna stay over I'll hang the hammocks from the roof and they can sleep on the hammocks instead of a bed basically you just created but then the rest of my stuff I'm gonna sell or give away. I have already made arrangements with my landlord she's not going to rent out the apartment that I'm living in in the basement so I'm going to keep this for now as a temporary home base. I have made arrangements with her to pay a certain amount when I'm here in a certain amount when I'm on the road that will help in my living budget arrangements. I am thinking more stronger about all of this because of you and your channel the people that I've met on this channel and your glorious help. Last comment because am starting to investigate and go forward with this. Have looked into class B vehicles. 🌷So if one wanted a class B vehicle B - number one I'd better have some money saved - have to have good credit if one is going to finance it and for older vehicles they are requiring more money down on these class B vehicles. One better have some money saved if that rig breaks down.🌷 The rig maybe have enough maintenance that it can live stationary in a small area but is it going to make it halfway across the country back and forth. 🌷 These things all take money. Maybe some people get help from donations from doing KZbin videos but the bottom line is it takes money. To get that rig. 🌷 👍 And yes once a person has a good running vehicle and savings if it breaks down one could do a lot of visiting and a lot of exploring in a lot of adventures! 💅💅💅👍👍👍 And yes not having to work all the time what a blessing. Thank you again for wonderful Carol and you doing this video. 🌷

👍Totally concur with her about the maintenance of a toilet. Everyone is different on the subject. The Laveo toilet is $600 - it runs on cartridges. And there is no mess. No dumping. One is not throwing out compost or trying to dump sewer illegally. One dumps the cartridges. The cartridges are a bit expensive. It comes to about a dollar a flush - but along with possibly a big bucket that many people use it also is a possible alternative idea. 🙏

I agree with the toilet issue. I have a porta potty and use bags inside because don’t know where I would dump it. It takes up a lot of room in my mini van. I am just getting it ready to hit the road in April. At 70 the main thing I would have rethought is the mini van and at least get a full size cargo. It is difficult to get in the back as there is not enough head room and you are on your knees a lot. So don’t make my mistake. I will only be on the road for up to three months at a time. It is the only way I can visit family and friends and if I do decide to go full time I would sell this and get a full size van. I live on Social Security and get help with rent thru HUD and so not ready to give up my apt quite yet, mostly due to health issues. This is my third van and I missed it so much and now have one. Yah! 🎄💕🌹🐻

Yes! Yes! Thank you for this inspiration! 💥Also to remember - in starting out on this journey. If one does not have a car one has to buy a car. Right now new and used cars are $10,000 and $20,000 more than usual because of the ships at Sea that are stuck. They cannot get the chips to the new new car so that the price of cars is rising. 🌷 ❄️ If one has pets - it's a little more challenging in a smaller car possibly. 🌷A person has to make sure they have a savings in case that car or rig breaks down. 🌷It would be very very stressful to have pets and one's vehicle is in the maintenance shop - one better have some money saved for the repairs of that car. Where would one stay with their pets for how many days until the vehicle is repaired. Is there going to be a wait time for the part to come. People are waiting longer for parts to come because of the ships out at sea. These are things that I have noticed. And these are real realities. 🌷 🌷Just had a transmission die in a van and the cost was $5,000. 🌷 ☮️Right now I could not just go out and buy a school bus unless I had some money saved. And I'd better have some money saved in case anything on that bus broke down. Vehicle insurance obviously will be more on a school bus. The price of gas right now is very high. Am I going to be able to get from one point to the other. These are not negative comments. 🌷These are real things that are out there that I am observing starting this journey. And I applaud this lady in her journey and her accomplishments and her wisdom and her spirit.💗💅💅 Thank you!!!!💅💅

As Carol said, it really does help to have your ducks in a row. Being debt free if possible is very helpful as is having an emergency fund for some if the items you mentioned. Even if you don't have an emergency fund starting out, you could park on BLM land for free or for $180 total for the winter and work part time for a month or two say in Arizona to build up funds and then get on the road agqin.

when I was forced to live in my suv with 3 cats, it was a daunting task. No electricity, running water, showers, cooking stoves, it was roughing it pretty much to the max. I was in my car in temps of 10 degrees, lived on 400.00 a month, I bought ready to eat food at dollar tree, occasionally jack in the box, still love those 2 for a dollar tacos. lol. I learned how little I needed to survive, which sadly didn't include my cats much longer as I had to give them up. Nobody wanted them, in the heat, the temps were horrible with no a/c, it was sad. but I still had to keep going. I slept in the front seat in a recline position ready to go if need be. Its amazing what you figure out when you have to. I appreciate her video as it is realistic. You do what you have to do. I used gas stations to go to the bathroom, washed my hair in sinks in outhouses in parks. I showered at truck stops. You do what you have to do.
