So what? The way the Writers have developed Lucas & Maya's friendship (and feelings) is way more beautiful than any other show every could've done. Just because it isn't what you call "original" doesn't mean it's not as good. It's actually, in many many ways, a lot better than iCarly's ship war / ANT Farm / etc. The Writers of GMW know how to handle the whole 'love triangle' plotline appropriately while keeping in mind their character's personalities.
