I agree. Riley is an amazing character. However, Maya hid her feelings for about two years, just to make sure that Riley was happy, even if she knew it would hurt her. And it makes me a little angry too bc some people are like "oh my god poor Riley she pushed Lucas away for Maya" and while I understand that's pretty sad, Maya had to deal with them talking, flirting, and being on/off for two years, can you imagine the mental damage? The sadness? Because I can and it does not feel good at all.

If you watch the scenes in part 3 again, it's really not that bad. First, Lucas and Maya have not one but two dates at Topanga's in one day. That's saying something. In the first one, even though Maya dumps smoothies on Lucas's head, they're both smiling about it afterwards. And in the second one, they have moments like that too (like the butt kick "me now" bit, the fact that Lucas is so ready to give Maya his attention in spite of the drama happening with Riley behind them). If they seemed awkward it was mainly because 1. they were being watched so closely and commented on by their friends. (Who WOULDNT be awkward in that situation?) 2. There was a lot of other drama going on then, particularly for Riley, whose perspective we're supposed to see the show from. Don't lose hope! Remember the campfire scene and Lucas's speech about Riley/Judy and Maya/Tombstone at the end of part 2!

jazzmine phillips Yeah, everyone seems to be into overreacting right now. (Not that I don't understand having severe attachments to a ship! And this one's a really, really nice one.) But the best thing we can do is chill and not take one piece of info over the other, you know? It's sort of what the showrunners want, so as to misdirect you and leave you wondering. Makes for good TV. I do feel bad for Riley though, in terms of meta. All of this has turned people against either her or Maya (basically depending on what ship you're rooting for). Riley really is trying to get over things because I think she wants Maya to be happy just as much as Maya wants her to be. But she's 13 and experiencing her first heartbreak. It's a little rough, but I have faith everyone's gonna get through this fine (and that Lucas and Riley are going to have an extremely awesome friendship). The writers have said, "Riley and Lucas will learn one of the most important lessons of all", and then that Angela would be back to 'teach a very important lesson'. If we go by how Shawn/Angela in GMW mirrors Riley/Lucas, I'd bet good money that that lesson is how to stay friends with someone you were once with after a devastating breakup

I love your video. So beautifully edited with amazing voice overs. I don't watch the show, but I keep seeing amazing Lucas/Maya fan videos on youtube. And they are getting all this buzz. Lucas/Maya seem to be loved by most viewers and have the biggest fanbase. So I'm thinking of watching the show, but I'm worried the writers will still go the predictable route with Lucas/Riley. So I'm too afraid to invest in the show. I watched Part 2, and Lucaya have the BEST chemistry by far. Their almost kiss was so much better than the actual Riley/Lucas kisses. The chemistry with Lucas and Maya is just so natural and real. I hope the writers will give them a chance. But I don't want to get my hopes up to be crushed later on....

I'm sorry but I like this more than riley and Lucas. Probably because it's not forced it's just naturally come to a point where they can't help it. They have to care for each other. Riley tried to be with Lucas from the very beginning. I think it's unfair because the best friend never gets a chance like shawn never got a chance with topanga it went straight to cory and topanga like Maya will never get a chance to be with Lucas without riley stepping in or being jealous because she cares about Lucas as much as Riley does except no one will give Maya a chance to show that she does. JUST WAIT IM GETTING THERE. so like those of you who are fans of vampire diaries know that damon is in love with elena. before elena admitted her feelings towards damon, she said its always been stefan. she then told damon "If i had met you first, maybe it would be different." indicating that if elena had met damon first then there mightve been the chance that she would choose damon over stefan. in this case maya met lucas first. yes it may have been only a few seconds that lucas then met rylie. see what im getting at? i'm pretty sure that vampire diaries isnt the only show that mightve shot at the subject of a love triangle and the person that he/she chose would be the person that he/she met first. so what if lucas likes maya more than rylie, but doesnt want to admit it because maya didnt show any affection towards him that couldve been obvious, when rylie admitted to liking him. But he doesn't understand what he's feeling right now and he's not in a good position (at least at this point) to actually do that. But he knows how much that hurt, considering his timid apology afterwards. He didn't do that on purpose :( The main problem is that all these kids are dealing with these new feelings. What Lucas feels for Maya is intense and, I'd wager from his actions in the campfire scene, more than he's ever really felt before. I have faith that these two are going to be able to kiss for real soon enough, though. There's just a lot of emotional drama that needs to be worked out first.

(Lucas wouldn't just let himself be used for that, and Maya wouldn't just use Lucas like that. Also, Josh is going to be missing from a lot of the episode, if he's even there at all in the final cut, since the actor had a severe motorcycle accident between filming New Year, and was hospitalized after that :(

At first i shipped rucas but girl meets texas made me ship lucaya you can tell how much maya cares about him she loves him she wants to talk to him when the go on dates but lucas makes it akward maya doesnt want to lose lucas u can tell she is doing everything to stay with him but lucas cares about her but not as much as he cares about riley and i dont like that lucaya is the best maya had to spend all this time seeing riley and lucas together all this time maya has liked lucas but riley is so gogo ga ga about lucas maya doesnt want to ruin that MAYA IS A GOOD FRIEND i dont think rylee is sorry this is my opinion i love the video and i hope lucaya last forever
