Campground Review - Jekyll Island, Georgia

I camp here quite often. It's a bit too crowded these days though. Now when I go I only use the primitive sites. They are much more private. These days with technology you don't really need electric hook-ups. And you are definitely on top of each other.

I hope to make it down there one day for the full experience. The atmosphere is different than from what we traditionally camp in the way of thinking organized camping, but it looks fun. I went to Jekyll Island back in 1973, with my family. I was just learning to ride a bike at the time. I remember the mosquitos were terrible. My legs were all lumped up with bites. It was a lot of fun though, and wouldn't trade those memories for the world. Maybe I'll make my way back down there some day.

Nice video. I go there every year in October and we Kayak Fish. This will be my first year in a travel trailer, I've been tent camping. Some do not like the tightness of the sites but it doesn't bother me. I will be staying in E this year.

Is there beach access in the campground?

Not a direct access. It is pretty well secluded and away. I was not big in ther beaches there. Typically, we are Florida beach people. This beach is very different.

I live in south georgia do not go in the water at beach "nasty water " .
