Your videos are so helpful for those of us who have towing anxiety. You have helped me pick the best sites and no exactly what to plan for. Thank you for making these.

I've been there in June and August. The hiking is amazing. The very last part of the drive is rough and probably not good for low RV's, the driver in the video went faster than we would. It has big divots (see starting 2:25 in the video). In September it wasn't too full. All of the spaces along the river are very nice. The river is beautiful and there isa hike right behind the campground. Very nice clean pit toilet station (large). The reason there are cattle is that BLM rents land to ranchers which is part of "land management" and you could possibly run into cowboys rounding them up.

I've been there before, it shouldn't be TOO bad if you go slow. Not going to get a bus down there but I have a 26' trailer and have done worse than this. First time I was there the river crossing was open and you could drive to the other side and camp in several spots over there. I'm bummed that they blocked that off as it kept people from using up those spots and you could usually get something before reservations started. It's hard to get reservations now.

Loved being there for the big kayak race last early June. Beautiful wild flowers everywhere & the river was roaring. Although it was way too crowded then, it’s serene & quiet with your depiction here in the early fall.

We tried to record it in June of 2020. The campground was so crowded that I decided to wait for another trip. Love the summer wildflowers around CB but fall is a much different experience.

One of my faves! I'm glad you featured this one. I was there back in 2018 or 2019 when they were doing construction. It was December and we had the whole place to ourselves. I backed my jayco 10rk to the end of the bank so it sounded like a stream in my trailer while I was sleeping. Great memories there!

Would love to try this campground! We have a 26-9 bumper pull. Would we be able to get it in there? Are there dump stations near by? One more question, are dogs welcome?

I think you might drag going down that hill. Gunnison has a dump station. Can’t remember seeing one in Crested Butte. Dogs are welcome but should be leashed or under voice control.

It's a little rough. I'd take it slow and see how you feel.

I have so many questions.. #1 are those bear proof storages in the camp sites? #2 if so, then I question why the bears don’t go after the hamburgers (cows) that are around the campground…? They got lots of meat on em 😂 Or do the cows go home at the end of the day..? lol
@CampgroundRecon7 ай бұрын
Yes, those are bear boxes in the campsites. Black bears in Colorado are mainly vegetarian, so the cows are ok. lol
