This video inspired me to make TITH using sausies from the UK Gourmet, a store in Bethel, Connecticut that sells all things British. I have made it nearly every weekend in 2021, using an onion gravy recipe i found online somewhere (mustard + HP). I even picked up some British mess tins from 1987 and 1988. What a "great bit of kit." Cheers mate.

Good Posting .. thanks. My Army Mess Tins (we called them 'Dixies' in the SADF) still do regular service .. at least once a week. Stoves and heat sources include a folding Esbit Stove (my original issue from 1968), Trangia Burner, Gel Fuel, a myriad of 'Home Grown' Meths Stoves, Optimus 8R Hunter Benzine Cooker, Bushbox LF Wood Stove with varying fuels .. wood, charcoal and more. A great set of kit .. much ignored and underrated by the 'Outdoor Community'. Being Aluminium, I have kept them out of a base wood fire .. so that after 40+ years, they're still in pretty good nick. Not my Original '68 Issue. In '78-ish, I exchanged those for a New Set as the Original, being Nickel Plated (I think?) where looking rather tatty. Must try the Toad in the Hole Recipe .. thanks.
