Yep. A little planning and work up front and you will almost not want to leave camp. The gear available nowadays is so remarkable. If your camping for just a night or two then simplicity is fine, but if you're going to be out there for more than 2 nights take the time and turn the adventure into a "glamping experience". I've spent 3 plus weeks in tent camps in remote Alaska and with a propper, well thought out, set up you will want for nothing, mostly. Great post.

I have recently in the last couple of years started out of state elk hunting. A buddy of mine turned me on to cooking a good meal at home and vacuum sealing it, you can boil water and just throw the bags in it to warm up. It is a game changer, a hot meal every night, or every other night on a hard hunt is amazing. I have had fajitas, chicken Alfredo, stew, brisket and rice, so any different things this way and every one of them tasted just like the day you cooked it.

For me in my area, NW, PA; having space to hang and dry wet clothing and sleeping bags in December is a nnecessity.This space is also appreciated when confined to the tent durring.inclement weather. Heat and good ventilation are extremely important to me. I cannot sit in my tent in my insulated coverall all days or confined to my sleeping bag. One of the biggest draw backs to a larger tent is a bigger heater and more fuel required.
