U.P DEER CAMP 2022 (Week 2)

Week 2 of the best time of the year...
Michigans holiday deer season! We are up far north in the yoop this week searching for Big, Bad Bucks. And camping in our new bell tent which worked awesome! Deer camp has to be THE best time of the year so many fun memories made this year. It isnt always about the deer either, with all the fun times spent with family and friends the good camp food. Not to mention a break from work and uhhhhh.... school. Can't beat the books itching to be read and the stories shared!

Great video!! That is some nice country up there and really like the tent camp!! Never camped in a tent when we go to deer camp. My first experience was sleeping in the back of my father-in-laws truck with an aluminum topper. We would drop the tailgate and cook off the bed of the truck. Then we moved up to a slide in camper, then a pull behind camper, and then around 1985 or 1986 he got a converted 1969 Dodge school bus that we drove to the mountain. Now, for the past 3 years, we have went back to a pull behind camper. Looks like you guys had a good time. Thanks for sharing. Juddie - J & J TOA

Thank you, sounds like you have a lot of great deer camp memories hopefully many more to come eh. Deer hunting itself was a little slow but boy was it fun! Wasn't sure how the tent was gonna work out but it did great stayed pretty warm even with the cold and snowy deer season we had. Thanks for watching!

Air mattresses suck in cold weather. The air inside takes a lot to warm up. Draws coldness from the frozen ground and air when tent is not heated. Cots work a lot better. Just my thoughts.. lived it.

Dont give up you guys ,great camp .you just need to track and get someone to mentor you for a year or two ,just subbed, like to see how you do in a few years,awsom time .and yes forget about bait piles they will hit them in the night or just before.. you got to learn when to speeed up and slow down acording to what the deer are saying through their tracks.

Tried a little tracking this year. Just struggled a little bit getting away from people. Kept messing up their spots by walking right by. Definitely need to work more on tracking skills. Also wasn't planning on baiting much just because everybody else does it. So I'm sure the big bucks are very smart about them and avoid them by now, being that's the only way they get big. Ended up missing a giant 11 point in muzzleloader however. That one wasn't over bait. Still a little sad about that, being it's probably gonna be a while until I see another one even close to that size. Have got an opportunity at a buck at least once, for the last three years so I am happy with that. Still have so much to learn. Which makes it very fun, rarely go out hunting without learning something new. Thanks so much for the encouragement and support. Should hopefully have a muzzleloader video coming out soon. I know, but deer numbers were so low. I only saw 3 deer the first week of season. And all the good spots with sign were loaded with people. Saw a lot more orange then deer. Athough I ended up missing an 11 point in muzzleloader season. Definitely a lot of learning to do which makes it fun! Thanks for watching!

Try along rivers that run with head winds smart deer like them spots. They swim cross if in danger.
