Bread, Protein, Zappy. 1) We pre-cook meals, vacuum seal them, then lay them in the house freezer flat so they freeze long and slender, that way when we put them in the freezer section of our Engel combi we can fit heaps more in. 2) Stock up on wristband glow-sticks after Halloween. Break one and put it on the highest part of your car / camp so if you need to find camp at night after using the facilities or visiting friends you can identify your camp easily. It helped us a lot when bush / remote camping. Can also be used around dog collars or on little humans. The "hack" is stock up the day after halloween, they are dramatically cheaper. 3) We also have our in car snack cooler bag. We use what we plan on having for dinner (from the freezer) to cool our in-car snacks, while dinner is defrosting it’s keeping the cooler bag cold. Bonus) For those with a caravan. In the middle of the night, if you have a toilet, a water spray bottle can be used for number ones to rinse the toilet so a noisy water pump isn’t turned on in the middle of the night.

My Hacks are - if you are leaving the afternoon of your trip have a big lunch on the way out of town so you don't need dinner - If you are fortunate enough to live in the top or bottom end of WA bring some shards or offcuts of sandalwood for the mosquitos and a nice smelling fire - figure out your menu. If it's dinner for the next two nights chop those veggies and snap lock bag them and the same with the meat to save space - Last but not least.... FUNNEL ALL YOUR SPIRITS INTO PLASTIC BOTTLES TO PREVENT BREAKAGES! Hope to me and good luck to anyone who wins it.. Love the channel Ronny 👍

Make sure you get a good dinner before it gets dark (I know Ronny doesn't) get your cooking done before it gets dark & again you've had too many drinks). Dont forget to keep your tent swag zipped up. Going with meat hacks, if you're going to bring ground meat (beef, pork, etc) separate into weighted amounts in snaplock bags. Lay them flat on the counter and spread it flat, freeze them in this shape and they stack or slide into tight spaces in the fridge or ice box. For longer trips and a little more fun, for your eggs or pancake mix, use a pourable container. The one I use was an orange juice container kind of shaped like a pitcher originally but has a nice pouring spout. Definitely not needed but makes my kids happier. Protein bread makes you zappy!

My tip: Ratchet straps work amazingly as tent/gazebo/awning tie downs. I always carry around a handful of thin ratchet straps in my car no matter what anyways - have a compartment just for them. So I don’t worry about carrying extra string to tie things down. They’re always bright colours and being thicker, are much easier to see than rope. And u can get them tighter than any rope style tie downs. Plus rly quick set up and pack down. Bread, protein, Zappy
@oldbloke20420 күн бұрын
Yeah the ratchet straps thing is a great idea that we use as well. The other good thing is that if you use them to tie stuff down in the back of the vehicle they can get tangled and mixed up when you unload them so using them at camp means you know where they are and they're ready to re pack and tie stuff back down.

G'day Ronny. Cold climate hack... after you've eaten your bread and protein for dinner, use a hot water bottle in your sleeping bag for an amazing nights sleep. After dinner, sitting around the coals and starting to yawn and feeling a lot less zappy, put a billy of water on the coals. Pour the hot water into your hot water bottle then wrap in a towel or jumper etc and put it at the bottom of your bag (or wherever u prefer). In the morning you also have a nice warm towel or jumper etc. And you can just reuse the same water night after night... so no water waste. Works like a charm. Cheers 🍻

Tips. For those of us with iceboxes/eskies making up things like stews, soups or whatever then freezing the hell out of them on the freezers coldest setting and using square containers will mean more cooling for the esky and easy packing as well. Finding a tray that fits in the bottom of your esky will mean you can make block ice with no waste of room and the square milk bottles make great ice blocks as they will fit right in to the corners of most eskies. You also have some extra water for whatever if they have melted. Those with fridges may poo poo eskies but mine saved a lot of food on a recent trip when one of the fridges we were relying on decided not to work. I have also heard of people running very small fridge/freezers just to make ice to keep eskies going and saving a lot in terms of big fridges and bigger more complicated 12v systems. Carry cans for Beer or whatever so that they can be crushed when empty to save on rubbish space and less risk of broken glass. I use the older style Wolf Pack boxes and use one as a side table in my tent next to my stretcher, I have used them as something to step on to reach stuff on my roof rack and if you stack them up they can be used as a makeshift table. Bread, Protein, Zappy.

Bread, Protein, Zappy - Camp Light Hack: Use a water bottle as a makeshift lantern. * How it works: Fill a water bottle with water and add a glow stick. The water will amplify the light from the glow stick, creating a surprisingly bright and long-lasting lantern. * Benefits: * Compact and lightweight: Easy to pack and carry. * Multi-purpose: The water bottle can still be used for its intended purpose. * Safe and reliable: No open flame or electricity needed. My hack is: Take blow torch attachment for a butane canister. It’s cheap and takes up little space. It’s really good for burning your toilet paper.

Bread, Protein & Zappy. A good hack/tip is to take small containers of any spices that you might use, a pillbox is great and means you don't have many bulky and often breakable containers. Cheers Ronnie 🍺

The Codewords: bread, protein and zappy My hack: put a swiss army water bag on your spare wheel at the back of your truck and you have easy access to water. These bags are made of thick rubber and very rugged! Cheers from Germany🤗

Scrambled eggs, chorizo, guacamole and salsa makes the best breakfast ever. Add a flour tortilla or other carbs if you aren't old and getting taller sideways.

Bread, protein zappy. Prepared oven food half cooked in a foil dish then freeze, at camp site allow to defrost and stick it into your camp oven, after your done the foil dish crumbles to a tiny packet and that's easy to chuck onto the trash. If camping at high altitude and extremely dry air and keep waking up with a dry throat, you get these dollar store USB humidifiers and they work great. It's the brightness of the light not the color that affects night vision, the red color bit is a myth but it is true it attracts less bugs

Bread protein zappy All different charging cables with Velcro close to charge station in vehicle. setup soft Velcro on vehicle and hard Velcro on cables. Allows for very neat and tidy setup and we found actually reduced the amount of cables we travel with as it reduced duplication

Bucket or big pot. Fill with water, put food in zip lock bags and use the bucket of water to extract the air out of the bag. As you put the bag in the water slowly it will push the air out. As you get to the opening use the edge of the bucket to seal.

Bread, Protein, Zappy. Expanding on packing your meat in a ziplock bag or vacuum sealed, when cooking spag bol, chilli or sloppy joe mince etc make a double batch, seal it your bags, freeze and you have a quick hearty meal ready to go.

Pretty much all of my camping recently has been a on a motorbike, so space and weight are the main considerations. Buying a slab of 600ml water bottles makes it easy to stash them around the rest of my gear and distribute the weight. Bread, Protein, Zappy
