Great video! I live about 25min away from here. We go to the beach there every year in July but now I think we’re gonna take the family camping now after watching this.

I have enjoyed camping at this site, what worries me now is the Dry cask storage radioactive waste from the closed nuclear plant, located next to the campsite at the north side. I would like to assume that the state park being open at such of close proximity to the waste storage site, this has been declared safe for campers and swimmers. Still is something that worries me now. Any thoughts on this?

I have walked to the fence, but I have no other info on the site to the north. I too hope it is being handled appropriately. Happy camping

They close around the end of December. They have a gate house you pay for your site. They let me pick one out and I went back to pay.

Not related to the video but I was wondering if you have ever seen coywolves in Illinois, especially DuPage area?
@keithslocaladventure21233 жыл бұрын
I have not. I frequently see coyote in DuPage County. In fact I see fewer fox as the number of coyotes increase. I will keep my eyes open and I will check in with some of my naturalist friends. I have seen an increase in mink on both Salt Creek and the East Branch.

Do you need reservation to camp there ??
@keithslocaladventure21233 жыл бұрын
You do not need reservations, but they fill up in the popular seasons so it pays to reserve ahead of time.
