On our recent journey from Florida to California and back, we made several unplanned stops that just happened to be on the way such as The Buddy Holly Center in Lubbock TX, Billy the Kid’s grave near Fort Sumner NM, Meteor Crater near Winslow AZ (BTW, had to put on The Eagles’ Take It Easy as we drove through Winslow), stopped to see the house I lived in from 1968-1969 when my dad was stationed at Clinton-Sherman Air Force Base in Burns Flat OK (base closed December 1969). We planned on seeing Graceland and added Sun Studios tour while we were in Memphis. Going through Mississippi we happened to see that Tupelo (Elvis’ birthplace) was nearby so we made a quick stop to see the two-room shotgun shack. Finding these “Easter egg” stops made the journey that much more enjoyable!

I love that Caleb is beside himself in New York. Ernest Hemingway once said "if you are lucky enough to have lived in Paris as a young man, then wherever you go for the rest of your life, it stays with you, for Paris is a moveable feast" Yeah, yeah, he said that about Paris, but (having been to both cities) I feel the same could be said about New York too. Study hard, young man, you've got a good start!

IMPORTANT GUITAR TIPS: Hi guys just retired from 40 years of owning a guitar biz. The big one is watch humidity levels if in cold and or dry climates. Low humidity under 50% can dry out the neck of most guitars (especially guitars made in the pacific rim) causing warping and worst of all shrinking of the wood. Saw that all the time. Sometimes so bad the metal frets would be hanging over the edges of the neck, cutting the players left hand. Was a $100. repair. Buy a $10 digital hygrometer keep it in the case. When the humidity is below 50% (as in most college dorms) keep the guitar in the case not sitting out in the dry air. Only way to up the humidity is with a room humidifier (will help sinuses too). Don't waste your time with "guitar humidifiers" too small. Take Care!!! Brian
