Hello, thanks for this excellent input on camping in Tesla. Quick question, I am going to leave for Arches National Park, Utah next month from Kansas City. How do I figure out on the way e.g. Denver, CO a safe place to park my Tesla and sleep in the car. E.g, do I have to search for a campground in Denver, CO? Or there would be other places ??

So my setup for camping trips is going to include a swingaway hitch with a rack-style cargo carrier. Do you think it would be possible to use this tesloid tent (or any other tailgate-style tents you might have experience with) while the cargo carrier is still attached? Or would I have to dismantle the carrier in order to connect the tent? What I imagine being ideal is that I could set this tent up, connecting it to the car around the hitch connection and just have the hitchrack with its contents (cooler and kitchenette stuff, mostly) within the tent.

If you mean because of A/C or heat on in camp mode, I don’t usually see more than 10%age point drop at 30° with inside temp at 62°.
