I'm sorry you had that experience with the inconsiderate person with the generator. Not all of us who need a generator are that way. I camp on Port Bolivar 3-4 times a year with a tiny camper. I have a heart condition which I take medication for and cannot take the heat, therefore, I need an air conditioner. I love camping and refuse to stop. I went from a tent to a small camper with an ac. Thank goodness there is an option to use a generator. I have a single battery that barely powers the refrigerator all night. I never set up near other campers or near houses. I always find an area empty of other campers. However, my generator is out in plain sight and if anyone parks near me after I am set up, it's on them. I have never had a problem with disturbing anyone and I feel others with generators should be just as considerate. Please, don't judge all generator users. Some of us need them for AC. There is a lot of hate for generator users in some of these comments and on other channels. There simply is not enough room on my tiny camper for enough solar for an AC. I love your videos and am subscribing. Happy travels.

We are so sorry to hear about your heart condition. Sending lots of caring and healing vibes. I (Thavone) have suffered from a heart condition due to chronic Lyme disease for over 30 years. We are trying to get as much traveling in while we can. We agree, there are lots of considerate generator users, us included! We too look to be far away from others if/when we need to run our generator. We only wish the neighbor had done the same, and not set up so close to us, on a beach that is miles long.

I agree I am currently in Central Texas and experiencing 110 degree days for the first time... and I have some health issues and a dog ...so if my batteries are low you better believe I'm going to use my generator to power my air conditioner. Our health and safety takes priority.

I love sweet people! When on the beach, please respect others, only run your generator before 10pm. ❤❤❤ I'm afraid thats part of camping. People seem to have lost all manners. You need to camp at North Padre, near the fishing pier that they are rebuilding. The waves are loud and will drown out a generator. I camp there all the time with my RV in the summer, and run my generator all night long to run my AC. In the summer, the beach is packed from the locals, but at night, there is nobody there. I usually have the place to myself, plus the waves are so loud, you can’t hear my Honda Generator. Once you get 30 feet away, you can’t hear it. Plus there is nobody there anyways. In the winter, you probably have more people camping because those are probably snow birds that come to Texas in the winter. To keep from getting stuck, I carry a 5 gallon bucket. As soon as I park, I go get some salt water from the beach, and start pouring the water on my tire tracks. That will turn the soft sand hard, and you will be able to drive off in the morning without getting stuck. Just go get some water every few hours, and keep the sand hard. I also put a big square pan full of water in front of the camper door to rinse off my feet, so I don’t get the camper full of sand.

I’m not saying it’s the polite thing to do nor am I trying to justify them running that generator 24 seven but being a trailer it is possible they don’t have the batteries and they were running the generator 24 seven to run their AC

We were at the beach December 30th and 31st. It was in the 50's during the day, cooler at night. Not really air conditioner weather. Our issue is not with their needing to run a generator but with how close they set up to us and other rigs. There are miles of open beach to camp on at Port Aransas. It's not nice to show up late at night and run a loud generator near others. With consideration they could drive down the beach a ways, set up far from everyone else, and run the generator to their hearts content!

@@tdadventures yeah I saw time frame but some folks are a touch different try to be polite/ devil’s advocate. But other than that then maybe an electric heater??? And setting up close to someone when there’s plenty of space is a rather odd thing as well. Over all guess chuck it up to the 10% rule. 🤷🏼‍♂️
