Thank you for this great video. I loved the rain and how real it was. It’s good to see what doesn’t work as well as what does work. The sound of the rain on the tarp alone is worth the time to watch!

Been there, got the t shirt! I would suggest most people who spend time outdoors will have re-located at some point because of the weather. Even as you, and I have done, gave up and done the sensible thing and gone home! I also had one of those stoves. But then discovered the Gen 2 Folding Firebox, or it's excellent little brother the Nano. No more metal jigsaws, just a simple, well made stove. Thank you for the video.

Keep the faith dude - you have some good skills. Your environment is similar to where I live in England and your vid has actually inspired me to go out today in the rain. That peaty ground certainly holds water but you also need to be careful in dry spells, so best to set your firebox on rocks.

Really like these rainy Bushcraft days. I prefer the privacy and security of a tent and can't understand sleeping overnight under just a tarp especially under much colder circumstances, but I guess that's real Bushcraft.
@MikaHintzeOutdoors

Tent sure has its advantages, but so does a tarp. Tarp can be improvised to many different kind of setups. Personally I use both because it is refreshing to alter camping gear! :)

I really do like the rain , love to sleep in a tent while it’s raining. But I HATE setting up or tearing down camp in the rain! And I don’t know how close you were to the trailhead , but if my stuff starting floating ..... I’d have headed to the truck . Good job 👍

Yeah changing camp location sucked big time. Shoved all my gear inside bivybag + backpack rain cover and set up the tarp in new location. Got soaked, but rest of my gear stayed dry. ps. Thanks for the comment
@Giskeoutdoors
@Giskeoutdoors 3 жыл бұрын
Packing up camp in the rain is the worst! At least a tarp is less horrible than a tent, so that's something. If I can, I usually wait for the rain to stop and give my tarp a chance to dry out first.
