I watch you for your food friends and places in hawaii. I was born and raised in ohau. Graduated in 87. Left to Texas for military and retired police. I have been back many times because I have many families live there. In the last ten years I stop. However, next year, I will be there the whole summer and can not wait to visit some of the places you visited in your videos. Your videos always bring back a lot of memories of Hawaii. I guess Canada seems like a beautiful place, especially where you are camping. Actually, i like this video. Stay safe, and have a safe flight back home. Aloha and Mahalo, for all your videos of Hawaii.

Last time I was in Banff was in the early 70's. Love ruffing it. I use all Coleman gear. Sometimes the pump white gas stoves are hard to keep lit when windy. Banff was absolutely beautiful. So glad you were able to visit. Take care Misty. Did lake Louise also.

It was so beautiful for sure! Reminded me of Montana but without the terrible crowds. It was crowded but not as much as Glacier or Yellowstone. I thought it looked small, but I was so full. The waiter actually packed up some leftovers for me to munch on later on.

Definitely a long hike, but so worth the natural beauty of the area. The turquoise lakes are so enchanting. You’re amazing how you can find (even with GPS) any obscure place in the woods and find your way. I bet that spicy ramen hit the spot on a cold morning. It’s so pretty there. I thought you’d get a suite for $1300/night. I love Afternoon Tea service but it has to be English style, not Americanized style. The choice of teas, deserts, scones and dainty sandwiches are amazing. I like how they used smoked salmon and ingredients from local sources. Yum donner. Soggy fries with gravy...nope for me, too. Great trip, Misty.

Thanks Do! It is definitely amazing to see nature in its pristine form! I wish we could chose two teas. I'd get the chamomile and the English breakfast tea with milk and sugar. I really did like most of the food at afternoon tea except the tomato sandwich and the coffee espresso dessert. Service was top notch!

Thanks so much Paula for liking the travel videos, as they are not as popular. I find that quite sad that most people are closed minded. I hope you and your sister visit soon! It was still in the 40s and 30s at night in late June, but I heard it is super packed during July and August. So I think either June or September would be ideal times to go. During the winter some of the roads are impassable, so it is a summertime destination.

We did that vacation when I was a kid. Lake Louise looked different back then with a more majestic green lawn. There were bagpipers, some who were women! I got confused because the hotel looked different than I remembered and so after googling realized Inwas confusing it with the gorgeous Banff Springs Hotel. We also went on the Athabasca Glacier and rode in these tractor trucks and at one time they parked us over a crevasse. My grandma used to laugh about that because we traveled with them. Thanks for the beautiful memories. I must say, things have changed a lot since I was a kid. My husband also went as a child and he said his first time in a canoe was on Lake Louise! Also, Canadian food??? I don’t want to offend anyone but your experience is about right.😂

@csdesjarlais9779 awesome that you and your husband both had the chance to experience Lake Louise! I was going to film the Banff Springs Hotel but ran out of time. Did you know it's one of the most haunted hotels around? There's even a missing room on the 8th floor where they drywalled up the door frame.

: ) WOW and OMG! GO Misty! ! WELL DONE and HAD to LOL as EVERYTHING in Canada HS to be bilingual as French is mandatory since Quebec got their way... had to take it in High School as well. THANKS MUCH for showing the extremes in Banff, I remember my X going to that hotel with her Sis way back when, and that Hotel may have been built by the railroad company? Never heard of Ginger Beef, but sounds great! What a trip indeed, and THANKS MUCH for sharing :) ALL the BEST and safe travels ! Cheers : )

Mahalo Marty for explaining how it's mandatory to take French. I took Francais for 4 years but didn't learn a thing lol. I read somewhere on a plaque that the hotel was where Swiss trail explorers often explored the mountains. But I'm sure it may have been built by the railroad company since it does go through Lake Louise. It was a fabulous trip! Have a great weekend!

Lake Louise is so beautiful. Nice vacation. Disney cruise and now this?!? You don't need "more" citations? Was that a Freudian slip? I'm a fancy hotel person. Too old to be getting on the ground to sleep in a tent, but I loved camping in the past. That Tea looked amazing! I loved this long vlog!
@FoodFiend

I meant I didn't need any citations. I guess it came out wrong. I am not that great of a speaker. I do my own subtitles and cringe when I have to type what I say. I don't need to worry about citations here at home. LOL. Yeah, as much as I like camping my back was not too happy in the morning from sleeping on the ground.

@FoodFiend That's why not everyone can be a content creator. Takes guts to put yourself out there. I misspeak all the time. No problem. Didn't think you would have problems in Hawaii, but thought maybe the Canadian traffic laws were stricter or something.
@FoodFiend
@FoodFiend 11 күн бұрын
@@titasmom678 the laws are stricter. Cameras are everywhere for red lights and also speeding as well as airplane radar, which I understand as they measure the line you first pass and then the last line you pass on the highway in seconds and do a math problem to calculate the speed of the vehicle. I've been lucky and never got a citation. I think you dont have to care what people think of you to do this, which I don't. This isn't my job, so I guess that's why I don't care. YT doesn't pay the bills. LOL I can see it matters if YT is your main job.

@@FoodFiend True... about choosing what to do or where and when to eat. I went to Reno once with a bunch of my friends. It was a guys outing. When deciding about dinner... some thought it was too early some wanted a sit-down dinner~ others wanted to grab hotdogs and beer. Some wanted seafood... one was allergic to fish. No more guys-outing for me. It's much simpler with just my wife and me. She's pretty much agreeable with what I suggest. Looking forward to the cruise portion of your blog. How/why did you chose a Disney cruise ? They're more costly and largely targeted for families with kids. DougK
@FoodFiend
@FoodFiend 10 күн бұрын
@classyfiftynine8208 we've done Disney Cruises before and the service is or was exceptional. I don't gamble so I don't care that it had no casino. There is a part of the ship that is adults only and all soft drinks are included. No stupid drink packages. However, you'll see why I might stop. We filmed our other Disney Cruise when Aiden was 5 in the travel playlist.

It's sad when the luxury part of the trip had the best food in the tea setting, you don't even enjoy dessert all that much so that's saying something. Sounds to me like the hotel has cheap seasonal help and not an actual chef, I'll pass for that kind of money. You're right, you're paying for the view/location! Sure is beautiful for both sides of your adventure. Fun video, thank you!

Yes the food there was meh. Which is weird. There are lots of restaurants in the hotel though and I did not try them all. The most famous one in there is a German one. My waiter at tea was phenomenal though. He knew each dish and described them without looking at the menu and knew his stuff.
