Can Maun-Moremi via South Gate 7:18 be done as a day trip from Maun without rushing too much?

If you're not in a hurry, it's about 2 hours from Maun to South Gate, and maybe another 3 hours to Third Bridge. It's only about 150 km or so, but it's a slow drive, especially once you're in the park. The mopani woodland is quite dense for most of the drive, and so you don't see much until you're close to Third Bridge. I wouldn't go from Maun to Third Bridge AND back in one day, it would largely be a day of just driving. Also you would miss the best viewing times, since you would be at Third Bridge in the middle of the day.
