Thanks again Elizabeth. I’ll post a second video in a few days showing our activities during this 6 day trip. The first 3 days were very hot and the last 3 were rainy. Rained hard the last day and we had to pack up wet and open everything when we got home.

Thank you Sherry. Here do you usually camp? Do you cook much? Thanks for the note.

@@moderntentcamping I am in Middle Tennessee and that's where we camp. I really don't want to have to worry about bears, so we haven't been to East Tennessee yet! I love to cook at the campsite. I took your advice and stopped putting my screen house over the picnic table. So much more room to set up my kitchen.

@@sherrywix8170 You may already know this but we are neighbors. We live in Huntsville Alabama and have camped all around middle Tennessee. We love camping in the Smokies but have never had a problem with bears. Just cook, eat, and clean up before dark. And keep your food in the car. Thanks again for all your past support.

Your camp always looks so cozy I love seeing how you arrange things. How nice that you got a whole week out.

Thanks for the note Jacqueline. It’s always nice to hear from you. Hope all is going well. Yes, we had a good time and I wanted to stay longer but couldn’t. I just revised the tent page of my website and wish I could talk with you about the Gazelle. I noticed that the price of the big 8 person tent is pretty high now. Up with the big name tents.

@@moderntentcamping Yes there has been a shortage on them as soon as they restock them they sell out. I think Amazon buys them out.

You have protected your camp setup. I like the toggles on the tent windows instead of zippers. Your camp kitchen is in perfect order, that took 55 years of camping... 🤣 I know that no matter how much experience you have camping, you'll always tinker and make changes to the setup. Enjoyed watching as always. Thank you for sharing... Take care Frazier D and Eva. 🇺🇲

Thanks Patrick. Yes and yes. We got the full force of tropical storm Fred. 4 inches of rain in 1 day plus plenty more rain the last 2 days.

Frazier fabulous camp set up, enjoyed seeing it and your comments on it. Also, the tip with the bicycle inner tube over the extension cord sockets was really good to know. Thanks and all the best.

Frazier, Well done. This appears to be a very nice place to camp. During the rainy days did you have any water penetrate the tent fabric? If there was an award that was given to someone who has mastered the art and science of tent camping, you would be Grand-Champion/Gold Medal level. :)

Thanks Michael. We got 4 inches of rain on Tuesday plus more rain on Wednesday and Thursday morning. We got a couple of drops in the tent on Tuesday but basically stayed dry the whole time until we packed up Thursday morning. That was a mess and EVERYTHING got wet. Drive home was 6.5 hours. Had to open, hang, and wash everything. I’m taking a break but Eva is still working. I’ll post a second video soon showing our activities.

I heard scotch guard will help keep the tent dry. Has anyone tried this?
@moderntentcamping3 жыл бұрын
@@brendahowell5946 you don’t need to use Scotchguard or any other product for a good quality tent. They are waterproof when you buy them.

I love your detail oriented videos on tent camping Frazier! As usual your thorough explanations explain what works well and the most efficient ways to put a tent camp together. The photos of you and Ava help illustrate what you explain, and make your videos personable and entertaining. Thank You!

I haven’t used it much but I’ll turn it on if I get a few bites and I don’t seem to get any more. I only use it in a closed area such as the kitchen shelter.

Hi! I really enjoy all your videos. I’m also subscribed and I think I’ve seen all of your videos. I had a couple of questions though: could you upload a video just on your bedding? The individual mats and mattresses and a step-by- step process for setting them up? Also, just out of curiosity, how hot does it get?
@moderntentcamping2 жыл бұрын
Thanks Oviedo for watching and for the complement. Have you seen my website? ModernTentCamping.com It has a page on bedding and a video at the bottom. We live in north Alabama where it rains on the average, a little over an inch per week and the daily high temperatures exceed 90 degrees about 30 days a year. Some years, we will have a few days (up to 7) with daily high temps over 100 degrees. Generally we drive north and to the mountains in the summer. And try to stay home when daily highs exceed 95.
